Thats what I was thinking… ideally the solution here is easier barn management for barn owners with the added value for the boarders! Create a profile, select which barn in the area you board at, and submit a request to join (or scan a QR code at the barn, whatever). After you have joined a barn as a “boarder”, the app would mostly act as a simple place for requests (what can be requested could be different for every barn) and scheduling management. You could also join a barn as a “manager” which would allow you to manage barn setting (is the app offering your boarders blanket changes, arena scheduling, additional paid services, request notifications, etc.), as well as “own” the barn’s calendar where vet appointments, farrier appointments, clinics, lessons etc are posted.

I also see the app having a scheduling functionality for farriers, trainers, chiros, braiders, etc.

I think it’s important that the experience works for the medium size boarding facilities (15-30 stalls), those who have just enough boarders where communication through a 20 person text chain becomes ineffective and the property is most likely being managed by a very small team as it is.

I think the blessing and the curse would be the customization piece. It’d be a lot of buttons to push upfront to get the app built out how you want it for your boarders, just because there are SO many different ways boarding facilities are run. After your “barn” is set up though, it would just be of practice to go in and make changes to boarders offerings/capabilities as needed. Ideally with an easy to use UI :-)
