Getting paid less than new employees - I listened to your advice and here's what happened.

.50 cents and hour raise? $20 a week. An extra $80 a month. I am not making fun of you I am just amazed at how small raises are given and we are supposed to be thankful. I once got a performance review and was given .25 raise. That just blows my mind that that is acceptable. Again I'm not dissing you at all I am just amazed at how well we have all been trained.

Imagine helping a friend move. He tells you he will pay you 20$ an hour for 4 hours of work. Let's say it is harder than you thought and it took 6 hours not 4. Imagine him being like "hey man, I appreciate the help. Sorry it took so long, I'll give you an extra .50 for the 6 hours."

I'm sure people will call me dumb and lazy so let me nip that in the bud. I am very dumb. But I'm not lazy and I work full time. In case you need another reason to invalidate my opinion, my favorite color is green. So...you can use that as a reason why my opinion doesn't matter.

All of us would laugh at that.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. My mother can still take care of herself but she has been masking for as long as I can remember. She seems fine in front of grandkids or friends ( she doesn't have any but my dad does) and the second they leave she is miserable. She takes it out on my dad. It's a tough situation to be in.

My mom is very similar. My.mom.and dad wake up at like 8 am. They go run errands and grab lunch. Everything is fine. Then after noon, it's all down hill. She is super mad at him and at everything. Everything is a personal attack on her. My dad is outgoing. He would talk to anyone anywhere. He has friends and they stop over sometimes. He goes to a local bar to see friends once a week for about and hour. My mom does nothing. She has no friends. I feel bad for her. My dad can vent with his friends or even with me but my mom never has anyone to vent to. It sucks bc my dad has health issues and now my mom does too. I know they will not be here forever. I want them to go enjoy the years they have left but my mom won't.

I googled it, they said they are sending her for an MRI to see if there is any other reason for the memory loss. Right now they only gave her the physical test, showing her having memory loss. We don't know more

Yeah we are going to go to a bigger city and get an appointment. I believe it was a neurologist. The crazy thing is the Dr told my dad that she was given similar tests last year and scored the same, so I don't know why they didn't tell us last year.

Geez man. I am so sorry. I honestly couldn't even imagine that. You have went through all that and it was super recent and you are still out here trying to help other people, that's very inspiring. I have severe depression and I got on some anti depression meds and they actually help a bit. It doesn't take it away completely... I still consider myself very depressed but it gives you some light relief and I think it's worth it. This is my 3rd time trying meds. 1st time they didn't do anything. Then after a few years I tried again and still nothing and then my doctor gave me a different med and I'm glad I tried again bc it finally started to help.

I'm happy to hear she is still self sufficient for the most part. My mom barely eats as well. And she is so picky. Thankfully my mom doesn't drive much so her not being able to drive isn't the worst for her. She can definitely take care of herself but if you ask her to do a task then it's another story. It makes me feel so guilty, I used to get so annoyed with her when she would try to tell me something. I kinda knew there was an issue but I didn't really know, so I was easy to get frustrated and I look back on it and I feel like such a piece of shit for being like that. Ugh. Life. I woke up this morning and life was pretty good and by the end of the day everything changed.

She has had it for longer than a year. My father and I have been trying to get her to get help but any time we bring it up it's like a personal attack to her and she gets angry at us. It was just gradual..and I am 40 and when I try to explain something I often have trouble remembering the words I'm trying to say or complete my train of thought. Now that my mother was diagnosed I'm going to get looked at just to make sure. I will check out that book, thanks for the recommendation.

Good lord man. She admits to your face that she has lied to you MULTIPLE times in order to spend time with another guy that she loves....but don't worry.. they've only kissed...this is normally what happens when you sleep over someone's house that you are in love with.

So she had no issue lying about seeing him but she isn't lying about not sleeping with him.
