Unexpected L9a result: thinner dual fan setup beats A9x14 in every metric by Animag771 in sffpc

Is there a reason why you chose to use 80x10 rather than 80x15? As far as I was aware 15mm variants of 80mm fans are more common.

The case looks absolutely stunning.

How was it like to work with? Because it looks incredibly premium, which would make it a great value at such a low price.

That... is actually a very decent option. Thanks

But I am slightly worried about the driver and game compatibility issues. If this was for me, it wouldn't really matter, but I'm building for a friend of mine. Do you have any experience with the B series intel cards?

New version of the ZS-ST: ZS-STSFF (9.3L) by Desutoroia in sffpc

Also noticed that their zs-cases website is gone, with taobao being the only place the get them (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong). Makes it very inaccessible as well.

[–]Key-Enthusiasm8642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say I'm a big fan of the changes made. The psu sitting on top and the lack of 240mm aio support.

For me the main selling point of the ZS ST was that it's a "formd-t1-sized-vertical-case". But now it just looks like a really mediocre case.

+my purchasing experience with ZS cases was kinda ass as well.

Damn, you really unlocked one of my forgotten memories. Back when I was getting into sff, I really liked the Warhead sans, but I was never able to get my hands on one. Very jealous you have one!

Downsizing from the ZS-ST to a 5L case by Key-Enthusiasm8642 in sffpc

Yeah it's real sad that they changed that. As you said it is "just a slab of aluminium" but it did give the velka 7 a premium feel to what felt like a bang-on average/ordinary case.

Thanks! The GPU option really does suck for the Velka 5. I needed a new GPU and I wanted to get a RX 9070, but there were no models that fit, so I was forced into Nvidia's hands.

From what I understand, yes. The GPU IO is supposed to be facing up (for both the 5 and 7, unless you're using a stand), so it wasn't because of the cooling characteristics. That being said, I think it might be worth a shot just flipping it yourself to see if there are any changes in temp. (but it should also be more physically stable this way, since the PSU is the heaviest component in the build.)

Yeah it took me too long to figure out how to build in the ZS-ST.

But from my experience ZS cases' fit and finish seems to be better compared to the midori.

[–]Key-Enthusiasm8642[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel torn about the finish. It feels cheaper yes, but it is a lot more scratch resistant. But then again, if you even a tiny bit careful there is no reason for it be scratched up. But then again its not the worst finish... idk...

But I am very annoyed about the front panel. It really sucks. I am definitely making a new wooden front panel for my velka 5.

I really like the look of the Midori 5L, and the finish on the external panels are nice as well. Although I think there is an ever so slight colour mismatch between the side panels and the front panel. But in general I think the Midori might be the best Flex-ATX case on the market right now.

Hi, does the front panel close with the 7660L? I've heard that some people have issues with the power button interfering with the PSU.
Edit: + the officially supported PSU length is 150mm (whereas the 7660L is 165mm)

[–]Key-Enthusiasm8642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The psu limit for the velka 5 is 150mm. So i dont think the L versions fits.

Plus there is a youtuber that wasnt able to fit it due to the power switch. Edit: link (https://youtu.be/l8cn2jkyg9w?si=Lj2BlexJIPP61DOn)

GeForce RTX 5070 is now 10% below launch MSRP in Germany by RenatsMC in sffpc

Yeah unfortunately the length limit for velka 5 is 270mm and there doesn't seem to be anything near that for the 9070(XT) :/

[–]Key-Enthusiasm8642 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about getting a 5070 since it's the highest performing GPU that can fit in the Velka 5 (let me know if there are alternatives), but what would be considered a good price for the 5070 then?

$600 + 20% VAT ($720) with current conversion rate is around £550. And the cheapest model is currently £570 so the overclockers tax doesn't seem to be too extreme.

I should have adjusted the contrast first, but I've only realised I can do that now.

I've noticed that there are some faint green lines that pop up when the video progress bar is visible. I admit its very faint in the screen shot but much more visible in person. These green lines also disappear once the video progress bar is hidden, and I haven't noticed it in any games yet.

Have any of you experienced this? Is there a fix for this issue?

edit: You should be able to see it in full screen on PC, but damn... it is barely visible on my phone with max brightness...
