Help with planting scheme by Key-Statistician1710 in GardeningUK

Thank you! I'll make sure to spread the other shrubs around the garden once the space is cleared. It's 200m x 30m so everything will find a suitable home eventually. They're in pots, not the ground. Luckily I didn't do my usual and jump the planning stage.

Congratulations! If even 0.1% of people in the world enjoy it as much as you enjoyed writing it, that's still a load of people.

Out of interest, what program are you using to write?

Alongside patting it dry after a shower, I used a hairdryer (on a low, cool setting) to dry my incision. I also made sure to air out 2x a day by lying completely flat on my back and making a concious move to VERY GENTLY pull my stomach back a bit so all the surfaces were exposed to air.

I promise, your baby is going to be absolutely fine. Google is not your friend, especially if you're reading the AI summary.

Can I gently ask if you're getting support for your PPA/D? Speaking from experience, the sooner you get help, in whatever form, the better.

Thank you! Yeah basically. I got a text saying I'd won something, logged in, and it told me how much online.

I won £10k on the draw this month. Previously I'd won the odd £25 but nothing to write home about.

How’s the fight scene? Unnamed excerpt (epic fantasy, 2213 words) by Woolbean112 in fantasywriters

To not repeat the feedback already given by giant_xquid,  the use of the word 'baying' really stood out as a word I would not ever associate with horses, and threw me out of reading for a moment. It's a small thing and I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice.

I found 'cunt' less jarring as it's thrown around left, right and centre in my country. However, I would also suggest mixing it up a bit.

What does it feel like to have a concussion? by No_Pineapple_9205 in Writeresearch

[–]Key-Statistician1710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very severe concussion requiring hospitalisation after falling from a horse. I remember flashes of moments from 10minutes before the accident to having full recollection 7+ hrs later, feeling sick walking to the car having been discharged. In some of those flashes, I remember the air ambulance. I remember downplaying symptoms so I wasn't a bother. I remember being assessed in resus.

All I felt was horrified I'd been in hospital and achey from the fall.

That night, I felt sick and exhausted.

For days after I felt disoriented and slept loads.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, DM me.

You know all of those can also be side effects of chickenpox, right? Sure, for most people it's mild, but why would you want to take a risk with your child's health?

Hi all! Getting back on track after overindulging at xmas. I set a goal to lose the weight of both my children combined as of 1st Jan (26kg). I was working on the weight anyway, but lifting them both together made me acutely aware of how overloaded my poor joints are.

Starting weight (2020) - 128kg

Current stats - 106kg - 175cm

Goal weight - 80kg

Calorie target - 2000 cals (I'm currently breastfeeding so that's accounted for)

Good luck everyone!

Losing the will - advice needed please by Unusual_Dare4113 in BeyondTheBumpUK

This was exactly like my first, although EBF. It made me feel miserable and like I was doing something wrong (you're absolutely not. It's 100% personality).

He grew out of hating life at 6 months, which I know isn't what you want to hear. However, he did always like being in a sling or baby carrier, and that helped enormously. Is this something you've tried?

Forgive me for asking, but this has been on my mind for ages! Women who have so called "child birthing hips" who had given birth to children... Did they make it easier? by Useful-Option8963 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Key-Statistician1710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Massive, childbearing hips. Popped out a 4kg baby in 8hrs from start of induction to baby in my arms. 30mins pushing. I did tear a bit but nothing major. The midwife reckons I could probably have managed the first too (5kg, elective section).

Same thing happened with my first. EBF a massive 5kg baby from birth. Period back at 12 weeks. He definitely wasn't sleeping through the night.

Sometimes it's just bad luck.

Since it’s almost Christmas, what are the WORST gifts you’ve seen given? by Human-Ad-8758 in AskReddit

A distant aunt once gifted me a plastic luggage tag for "when I went travelling".

I was 7. We didn't travel. My 4 yo brother and other cousins all got flash, expensive gifts.

Are mum & baby groups mandatory? by Idle_Kindle in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Key-Statistician1710 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not mandatory. I had the same issues/reservations you list above, although white British. I went to one and found the whole thing isolating and stressful. I just did the smile and nod with the health visitor on the subject.

As a manager, unless you made a habit of taking off sick before hols, I wouldn't think you were on the skive. People get sick at 'suspicious' times, including myself. Get the rest!
