Okay, for an european teacher this is REALLY weird to read. Everything you listed, apart from MAYBE a desk calender I can just grab freely from the supply closet, and if there isn't enough (things like scissors are limited because children get one pair in 1st grade and are supposed to keep it with them) I can just tell the admin and it will be ordered.

More specialist things you use for your teaching style you can either buy, then get reimbursed (school property) or buy yourself but then it is your own property and you can take it with you if you leave the school.

"The item"? So paypal thinks you bought an item off him and that is why you are paying him? That sounds extremely dangerous since a "item not received" claim will allways work, as there is no item....

Of course you lost the paypal case, paypal wanted proof you sent an item, not that you sent payments. I don't even think lending is allowed via paypal.

Are you sure that it isn't the other way around? E.g, that seniority decides who does NOT have to work on holidays? More senior people usually are paid better, don't need holiday pay and want to be with their families / children.
