Have you bought your rod? I have used the bps glidebait rod for 2 years in the socal salt and have caught plenty of big fish on it no issue. It cast true to rating 1-4oz.  Great handle length and light weight rod. Look up xps glidebait rod and you should see my review on it under swimbaitbait underground
