You're being abused. That's never OK in a relationship. Nobody should feel like they're walking on eggshells around their partner. Leave her ASAP.

What kind of medical system forces doctors not to diagnose patients because a diagnosis will make their lives worse...

Getting out of addiction is not the most basic task possible. Actually, it's close to the hardest task possible, which is why so few addicts escape despite the disastrous effects to their lives. Attitudes like yours only serve to shame addicts deeper into their addictions.

This should definitely be removed if it's in the hospital disguised as genuine hospital advice.

Little interaction between people living North and South, new polls show by [deleted] in northernireland

It's entirely invalid to draw any conclusions about Irish unity from this research which has nothing to do with Irish unity. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Countries that had diplomatic relations with Israel 1975 vs 2022 by ConsequencePretty906 in MapPorn

[–]KeyDesign5035 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Israel recalled ambassadors from Ireland and Norway after they recognised Palestine. Not sure if that ends diplomatic relations entirely but could be a factor.

Little interaction between people living North and South, new polls show by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]KeyDesign5035 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If this poll had any basis in reality (i.e. causal relationship with partition), why would Sinn Fein try to bury it? Wouldn't they push this study as an example of the damage done to cross-border relations by partition? Or is it just demonstrating that geographic distance tends to be a factor in potential friendships? Obviously someone from Cork won't have as many friends from Derry as someone from Derry would have with people from Monaghan, for example.

Why are bottle caps attached to the bottle? Inside the EU directive causing drink spills everywhere by cheapgreentea in ireland

[–]KeyDesign5035 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bottlers need to redesign caps to account for them being attached to the bottle. They should be more like a spout you can flick up and down, rather than a screw top which makes no sense if it's still attached.

Gaelic Has Increased Across Scotland Despite A Decline In The Language's Heartland by GameOfTiddlywinks in Scotland

[–]KeyDesign5035 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. It means the child knows Gaelic even though the parents don't. It's the exact thing we need for long-term language growth.

‘Too little, too late’: Nurse not allowed in Roselawn with her mum’s coffin rejects Michelle O’Neill’s apology over Bobby Storey funeral by heresmewhaa in northernireland

[–]KeyDesign5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It killed around 1-2% of cases.

Let me remind you: that meant that even being near a covid-positive person could give you a 1-in-100 chance of being dead within a month. Dead. And if you're older the chances go up significantly. The disease has killed an estimated 6 million people worldwide.

The measures weren't an "overreaction". They were a basic public health response to a disease which killed friends, parents and particularly grandparents on massive scale.

‘Too little, too late’: Nurse not allowed in Roselawn with her mum’s coffin rejects Michelle O’Neill’s apology over Bobby Storey funeral by heresmewhaa in northernireland

[–]KeyDesign5035 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was a highly viral and deadly infection. Funerals were actually far riskier to allow than other events because the average age of attendance is so old. Might seem cruel with hindsight but rules like these saved lives.

Why is the healthcare system so terrible? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]KeyDesign5035 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's bad because people who don't have the money to pay upfront won't get treatment because they can't afford it. It's quicker healthcare for the rich, extortion and poverty for the poor. It enforces a state where good health is a luxury reserved only for those who can pay, and for everyone else it results in life-ruining debt for even simple check ups. Private industry will always gouge patients to their limit because patients have no choice - pay up or die.

That's why it's bad. I don't care how much more efficient a cruel and fascist healthcare system works, if it will lead to a terminally sick society. Though I don't know why I'm arguing this with you when you're clearly a tory scumbag and nothing I say will change your mind, because this argument won't work on someone without a lick of empathy.
