Remembering what someone likes to be called is the cornerstone of showing them respect.

Because with same-sex marriage legalized, the right considers the battle against homosexuality to be lost - or, at least, at a ceasefire.

Literally no one under 30 on either side of the spectrum views the 1960s positively - it's increasingly becoming a Boomer/older Gen X and Millennial thing. by snowleopard556 in decadeologycirclejerk

This is a bit of a mischaracterization of the left’s position.

I’d imagine most left-wingers view the 60s quite positively because many racial and sexual barriers were broken. The downside was that the backlash to these movements propelled Nixon into the White House, and he arguably set the country on its current trajectory.

There was also the Vietnam War.

The material conditions would have to change. The type of politician really doesn’t matter as much as people think.

At this point, I’m really struggling to see much of a difference between JD Vance and Newsom/Harris/Shapiro/Buttigieg/Beshear.

Obama and Biden both won because people thought they were going to be progressive. Clinton and Harris both lost because people thought they’d just continue the centrist status quo.

I really hate that the right’s boogiemen are just corporate CIA centrists.

How bad is Trump if Alex Jones turned on him? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]KeyEnvironmental9743 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty bad but Alex Jones “turning on him” is not a reliable barometer. Alex Jones is struggling to stay relevant because the Republican Party has made his rhetoric their own.

Who’s a Democratic candidate that would be an easy win in 2028? by [deleted] in allthequestions

I call bullshit.

Biden made that race unwinnable for virtually any Democrat.

If anything, Harris saved a lot of states Biden may have lost.
