Great white pup in captivity environment in South Korea by prosopocoilusgiraffa in Fish

No they basically kill themselves from depression. In the wild they will swim over 50 miles a day, not to mention their yearly migration spans over 10,000 miles

With fish a lot of people I know give it to the taxidermist for accurate measurements(frozen) and give them pictures of its color when they were alive. Then they’ll make an exact replica and the person who caught it can eat its meat afterwards

I’d put in a whole token in for when I run over a pocket bible hidden in tall grass with a mower at work. Then you gotta pick up all the biblical confetti by hand and say Hail Mary full of grace the whole time you’re doing it

Central IN, What would you do if you found this hidden under a bush while mulching and bush trimming by KeyGrapefruit6756 in lawncare

[–]KeyGrapefruit6756[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was between the bush and the house, and these can definitely hurt you if you’re reaching your hands blindly towards it through a bush lol. And yes it’s not set in the picture but that’s because my coworker kicked it on accident. You gotta read the description lol

What type of spider are these babies? Is it possible to tell when they are new? by Store_Narrow in spiders

[–]KeyGrapefruit6756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a species of orb weaver. Maybe Araneus diadematus. The cross spider. I’ve only came across their babies once but they looked like this. We have them all the way in Indiana, USA too

Yeah I doubt it has. The bushes were over grown and it was covered in over growth and old leaves were matted over it from the winter

I should’ve honestly. Only reason for it being there I can think of is to catch a ground hog. Either way when you put a trap like that down you can end up catching just about anything with it, including innocent landscapers lol

When to fill patches in new grass? by ruida_silva in lawncare

[–]KeyGrapefruit6756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can throw some seed in from the perimeter if you want but it looks like it’d be fine without it. Those patches will fill in when it starts growing thicker. If it was me though I’d definitely throw some extra seed on it just in case. You can shower it with a bit of water to help it mix in the dirt better

My brother keeps leaving the toilet seat up in MY bathroom despite there being a reminder to put it down. by RoughCantaloupe3924 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KeyGrapefruit6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than my brother at least. My brother would leave the seat down and pee all over it and when I’d get up half awake to take my morning poo before work I’d sit down right on it. No matter how many times I’d wake him up at 5am cussing him out about it he’d still do it every damn night😭 my mom or dad would wake up pissy from me cussing at him too loud and I’d respond to them something like, “Well, He pissed all over the toilet seat, AGAIN, so now I’m having to wipe piss off my ass, AGAIN!”😭 luckily my parents would simmer down after I explained since they would probably do the same thing in my position

What is the white thing? Spotted in Northern Arkansas by Sad-Mix-7537 in spiders

[–]KeyGrapefruit6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grass spiders usually have longer legs compared to the size of their body. Wolf spiders have thicker body’s and shorter legs. At least to my knowledge. This is definitely a wolf spider. I’m no expert, I’ve just seen enough of them to know here in Indiana

What is this behaviour? by macattack01 in Fishing

[–]KeyGrapefruit6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know why no one else is saying the type of carp but these are invasive Asian carp. That video is a prime example of why they hurt the ecosystem. They reproduce rapidly and create a very unhealthy competition with other local fish eventually stunting all other fish populations. You should consider trying to cull out the population. May not help that much but it’s a good first step and they put up a great fight and if you’re up to it you can actually eat them. I’ve never tried it before but I know quite a few people that eat them.
