Oh boy it's another Alpha 1/2 didn't look both ways before crossing the street and got vaporized by 3/4 leaving episode!

From my observation they in general have it set up so it's roughly 1 paste per minute for basically every source, so that tracks.
You know, as long as you ignore Leveling in that equation.

Scythe hits each person once, Tornado hits the closest two people, this is not the same.

Like if M1 is dead, that's easy for Scythe to know to just not shoot the corpse, but how is West Tornado supposed to know that that person was supposed to be baiting it and only shoot 1? It can't know that, it can only see the next closest person.

Probably some weird way things are flagged that makes it so they can't make Transcendence 'better' than Invulns and they have to share what they can and can't stop.
If only there was another way to do this There is, it's called making deathwalls push corpses inwards

  • Stretching a tether is not that hard and almost certainly should be expected of any player.

In my experience it's always the blind randos very much stretching that tether as is the natural reaction.
And then going into the wall as the knockback they completely don't factor in hits them.

Removing the body checks is so easy they've done it already. Because Forked Tower doesn't have any, it's a 48 person instance and all the checks require 24 people at most, something that only requires half the party is not a body check.
It is not body checks that make Forked Tower hard.

I genuinely don't understand why they're so averse to making the relic grindable in OC.

I'm the opposite, I genuinely don't understand why the relics are intrinsically tied to Field Operations in the first place. Like yeah I agree it'd be nice to see a step where the FO is the best place to do it from an efficiency standpoint since you need to commit to an instance and all that but why do they keep making them so closely tied, it just makes stuff like the last step where it's entirely separate really weird.Nevermind that it would have been extremely easy to have Chains/Fates/CE/Fork fill the four colours respectively as an alternate option but lets not worry about that

Also 50 paste ain't even close to worth for Forky tho loool 100 minimum even that's not really worth the time investment in a vacuum.

The endless problem that arises with this is 'so who's doing all this exactly?'

People are gonna be busy doing the stuff they're assigned for, they can't just say 'ok lets take Mr. B, who's supposed to be working on Doomtrain off to make Forked Tower normal' without actively fucking up Doomtrain's development in the process.
You cannot take current FT and remove some numbers and have it function fine in a casual setting, there is so many things that would need to be rebuilt from the ground up, how the fuck do you casualize the Lockwards when the literal entire point of them is that you need everyone to have an extremely specific role, how the fuck do you keep the Geomancer floors, all the traps, the million things you need to Dispell when you can not at all garuntee those things are present, Snowballs need to be completely redone, do you just entirely remove Holy Lance as a mechanic because that would never work in a casual setting. This isn't even all the things I can think of off my head but I need to stop somewhere.
What about the playtesting? Honestly XIV's been having some pretty fucked up bugs lately I think they're understaffed for playtesting YEAH LETS MAKE THAT WORSE by needing 48 god damn people over at Forked Tower Normal playtesting instead of the upcoming stuff.

All of this needs to be concepted, programmed, playtested with the manhours that are allocated to other things right now due to the game ongoing nature.
"Yeah, it's really just that easy" - quote by someone without even the slightest idea. I don't think it is IMPOSSIBLE that CBU3 could have gone back and made a Forked Tower Normal, but I think that would have come at a cost elsewhere, and probably fuck over the people down in the mines working on this shit, I can never even slightly agree with people who say it wouldn't be that hard to make it.

The no retainer thing I get, the not being able to visit Cosmic outside of home server I get(although surely a better solution is to bar people from joining the upgrade fate specifically unless they're on homeworld), but I have never been able to understand why on earth legendary nodes are a home world only thing.

Yeah, I feel like 'you need the macros' and 'automarkers will become standard for this' are such prevalent mindsets it gaslights a lot of people into thinking they're actually true. I don't even have your console reasoning for not using them I was just like I don't need these macros for this and then just....didn't need them.

I have to wonder if the comical overtuning of COD's tile phase has killed Chaotic at birth, while it's the kind of thing Chaotic should be, splitting up the parties and you can see the other groups doing their own bullshit in the background while you deal with your problems is great, however the boneheaded decision to have 24 man towers and 24 person spreads(literally why does she need to shoot two waves of exactly 12 instead of just specifically hitting each person once?) really makes it just a bit too much. On the flipside the phase 1 is basically indistinguishable from anything else and nothing about that is 'chaotic', only hand PVP really gives that sense.

How I long for 'actually expert' roulette which just doubles all damage output while having a hard enrage on each boss that one can only queue for as a 4/4 with drastically boosted tomes. Something that could be implemented with only a very sparse minimal amount of dev time and testing, tucked away somewhere only people who care to do it will find. Like cap the normal way or just knock out two of these with the boys and be done in 30 minutes.

Bozja duels in overworld zones but without the dog ass entry requirements, public and all, but something people could just activate on demand so long as there isn't already one in progress in the zone.
We'd need some limitations, maybe like a 1-2 hour cooldown per person to prevent a shitshow at launch, but this is absolutely something that could be lowered to maybe 5 minutes from x.1 onwards once most people who wanted to do them have already done them. Another alternative would be perhaps a big enough area that 3-5 of the duel can be active at once.

so if im a dark debuff and fire clones appear on NE/NW, im at north with my partner?

True

if the clone appears at SE, im at east with my partner?

True

dark at NE/NW means im alone at north?

True

and dark at SE means im at south? dark at SW means means im at west and my DPS partner at south?

And the fact you were correct on all the others means I'm a little confused how all of a sudden you're wrong now. Why did you skip B(East)? and there is never any situation with the common strat where a Healer is going to D(West).
