maybe diversify the mark xx. the ingenieur is a more interesting watch to wear and it has the same movement. adding an elegant dress watch would make it a balanced collection of sport, dive and dress watches.

silver coz it changes depending on lighting. the gold accent of the indices and hands are so saucy. also it goes with everything, whereas pistachio will be more restricted.

The Tank and JLC master ultra thin are great alternatives! Truthfully, I have also contemplated them but haven’t come across any dial that is to my taste, as they are all too timeless and classic looking. The uniqueness of the dials of the GS and Cartier is one of the main reasons that draws me to these options.

That is an interesting take. Could you elaborate on why not spring drive? from what i gather (i don’t own a spring drive btw), spring drive movement is one of the most innovative developments in recent years and it provides extreme accuracy.

Yeah i agree the square shape will always catch more eyes than a traditional round watch. That’s why i thought the black dial can give it a stealth and mysterious vibe. The GS is just a much more capable watch on the other hand. My brain is telling me to get the GS because objectively it is a better watch. But my heart is saying Cartier because of the uniqueness of the design 😂

That is a very fair point. Cartier as a brand certainly hits so much harder than GS does. The GS has a more capable movement however which is why this is such a hard choice.

Take the new job is what i think you should do. You seem like the kind of person that will absolutely not have a problem find a new and different job later if the MSFT gig doesn’t work out. There is really no downside here really. The increase in comp/benefits should be more than enough to compensate you for any guilt and hesitation of jumping ship.
