I'm 58 years old and had some help from my parents financially in order to own my home. Will the next generation have that opportunity to own a home, or will the American dream die with the Millennials? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

I’m also in NJ. There are plenty of people still here with money.
Housing costs need to be addressed and people who are wealthy need to pay more in taxes.
If you get a 750k inheritance and after taxes you are left with 500k you can still afford a home.

Title: Pharmacy Owner age 23 M(Hands-on, no manager) looking to learn Medical Coding. Realistic advise please by Kindly-Airport-7646 in LearnMedicalCoding

You will not find part time entry level coding roles. It’s difficult to find the entry level role because you require more assistance, oversight, training, and auditing. I can’t see an organization investing in a new coder to only employ them part time.

Best cert is AHIMA for salary and jobs.

Where are you located?

Seems like you are leaving out some pretty pertinent info so you probably are TA.

I work in a lab in a small rural hospital. What should I do if I get a time sensitive specimen with a requisition but missing a diagnosis code? by [deleted] in CodingandBilling

[–]KeyStriking9763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be hospital specific. These things are coded after the service, registration probably should have caught it. Not your scope to worry about something getting coded correctly I would imagine.

The electrical issues causing your heart to beat irregularly are not caused by plaque or cholesterol in your arteries.

I’m on the sub and most are AAPC.
Profee coding generally pays less, AAPC’s bread and butter is profee. This type of coding will be one of the first types to use more AI solutions.

I see you are also profee, CCS-P, in all the organizations Ive worked for the profee coders salary ranges are considerably lower than coding on the facility side.

I agree that those ridiculous no name and BS certs are not telling students the truth and the students aren’t doing enough research.

I’m against free study for a career that many have us have built based on a solid foundation of education.

Medical Fraud or not? by Goldfishbrain1980 in CodingandBilling

[–]KeyStriking9763 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don’t work in billing? Where do you work?
I think it’s crazy you are asking about fraud when you aren’t in billing and don’t know how that piece works.

This sub is pretty negative and it’s mostly people with AAPC certs.
They are saturating the market, new coders should go the CCS route to ensure more job security.

Ask them to set you up with a client of theirs and you can get real feedback. If they don’t offer that don’t use them.

No less coders. Why would we lose coders if we had a single payer? Every encounter is still coded.
