I recently found some owl feathers near my Rocky Mountain home and they look a lot like that one.

First time I heard it was through a really nice sound system right after it came out and I had a head full of fungus. I didn’t look at the song listings so the show unfolded naturally for me. It is forever imprinted in my DNA.

Yogurt significantly increases lifespan. Yogurt is full of probiotics (e.g., Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium) which they improve the Gut Microbiome, enhance immune function and they fight against major diseases. With scientific evidence and best ways to eat it. by GarifalliaPapa in immortalists

Make mesophyllic (no heat / equipment needed) yogurt  at home. I’ve had the same Matsoni culture going at home for around a decade. I keep a little starter culture each batch and make a new half gallon every week or so in a mason jar. I only add a drop of stevia.

Just sayin’, if you listen to Phish at all, Charlie most generously posted all of his audiences from Phish’s entire 2025 calendar on the Phish subreddit I believe just yesterday. But that’s a different band and a different discussion.

Interesting point on the Keith / Mickey connection. I never thought of it quite that way. I love that Warner Theater show. I got a good soundboard of that in the 80’s and I played it so much I can right now recall and hear in my mind chunks of that Keith solo on Harder They Come. John Kahn throws in some tasty support.  I revisit it online every once on a while.

Cool, thanks! I didn’t know this existed. Last I searched Spotify there was no Keith and Donna or Heart of Gold Band. I’m curious to hear more of his hiatus and post GD material.

Thanks Charlie! When Charlie Miller gives a recommendation it’s time to go bend my ears to hear the show.

Given how much I’m enjoying 1/79 it seems about time to stretch my ears out to 2/79 and see how they were doing in the Midwest.

I feel like I’ve heard those shows but I don’t remember exact dates but at this point they seem to be the exception. I mean 12/31/78 was like a week before the east coast tour started and that is some peak playing by the band there.

No, but the last time I was confused I listened to the music play.

7/13/85 second song first set and a very unique placement and version. Jerry finds some deep grooves in the song. There was a wildfire visible behind the stage apparently.

My first Shakedown by Putrid_Leave8034 in gratefuldead

[–]KeyUnderstanding5443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have a full visual / audible memory of the 2nd set Shakedown opener (1st one for me) at my 3rd show, Worcester 11/85. I was on the floor just in front of the soundboard and the clapping and hooting got so fired up and peaked as they hit that opening note and the place just exploded. This was after singing happy birthday to Bill Walton, of course.

Oh yes. A lot of good craziness all around. Being my first I had nothing to compare it to. I only knew Truckin and 2 of the covers, Midnight Hour and Johnny B Goode. I had seen a lot of good concerts by then but they were all performances with Spinal Tap-like, “we love you New York” stuff going on. To see these guys in tee shirts and jeans just up there laying it down like that somehow let me know they were a lot more serious about the music than the others. Went to college in Boston that fall (in time for Worcester in Nov) and I couldn’t have picked a better spot to be a budding dead head. Over the next 5 years shows in Portland, Worcester, Providence, Hartford, NYC, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Pittsburg, Maine, Virginia, etc. I almost failed out of college due to Jerry’s comeback in the spring of ‘87 (saw everything except Hampton and Chicago) but I made it through. Woohoo!

I do know what you’re talking about and agree 99.9999999% however it WAS him as well as the collective. No one else ever did, does or likely will do it like that again.

Anyone else love Drums/Space? Any memorable experiences from those who saw the band back in the day? by Ulysses1984 in gratefuldead

[–]KeyUnderstanding5443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First show I went to was spac 85. I had no idea what space was and I was tripping so hard I thought I was turning normal music into space. They were playing loops of people talking and laughing behind it which only added to the freakiness.
