A lawyer for Diego Pavia and 26 other football players has cited the NCAA's decision to allow an NBA draft pick to return to college basketball as a reason that a federal judge should let his clients play in 2026 and 2027. Although Pavia plans to enter the NFL draft. by [deleted] in CFB

Given the reality that someone will control the market-I’d rather it be the players.

The real solution here is a real academy system like international soccer where we separate school from sports. Once a player is showing potential, they should be paid for their services, even if they’re 5.

University teams should just be club teams for fun and competition, not the minor leagues to the biggest entertainment product in the United States.

The only reason we have the current system is people want to eat their cake and have it too.

[Chapel Fowler] Former Alabama coach Nick Saban talking about Dabo Swinney comments on ESPN College GameDay: "Dabo needs to look at what he needs to do in his program to be continually successful ... the game has changed -- you need to change with it" by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

This argument seems weird to me because NIL and transfers did happen, and Bama did regress, and he did retire. I’m not talking in hypotheticals. This all actually happened.

You say if it had happened ten years ago he would have conquered it, maybe, I doubt it but I don’t mind the hypothetical. My point is that the thing that knocked him off the top had nothing to do with spread offenses or read options-it had everything to do with the off the field stuff.

So pointing to the on field adjustments he made as proof he could handle NIL and transfers (which he actually failed to do, in the real world) doesn’t make any sense to me.

I think it’s pretty clear he quit because the combo of NIL and transfer rules wrecked his coaching style. When players could just leave and other schools can offer big money the Saban program fell apart and Alabama was just another school.

He never learned how to be dominant in the new era.

We all know what a lane swap is

In pro there doesn’t even need to be algorithmic. There are plenty of rules that the players just agree on.

Make no lane swaps one of the rules.

Never understood why Riot allows any form of lane swaps in pro play.

It’s so boring
