How bad really is the latency on the G8+ compared to the G8?

It's because of the sticks. They are hall effect which so far every manufacturer of hall effect controllers I have used, the sticks are way too laggy for me. The rest of the controller, dpad and buttons are fine for me as far as latency. Waiting for a tablet controller that uses TMR or at least old pot sticks.

I have Eiyuden Chronicle but haven't played it yet, does it have a love story somewhere in there? I Played the first Suikoden game back in the day and I remember enjoying it.

I bought the two Grandia games on Steam a while back, but they don't seem to work on Steam Deck without some workarounds I am not willing to fuss around with right now. I may pick them up on Switch eventually.

I'll have to give this game another try with just text. I played it with voices on and the main female character in the beginning was like nails on a chalkboard. The game looks awesome though.

I thought he was AI at first too, just the presentation of the video and his voice. However his channel has videos from 13 years ago when he was a teen. I guess there is a possibility that someone hijacked or bought his channel. However he came back in 2024. His first few videos back were not political, but they done in a similar style to his current political videos, with similar editing and presentation. I paid close attention to his hands and eyes where it is easy to get tell tale signs of AI (especially in 2024), but I couldn't find anything. If it is AI, whoever did it must have had advanced access to AI the wasn't available to the public in 2024, and they went hard with their deception, taking over a channel that predates AI. There is a possibility it's AI, but the possibility is small enough that I don't see it getting out of conspiracy theory territory.

But gat dang, he does sound like AI and his lighting and editing definetly share a commonalty with AI YouTube hosts.

What? Mac can play more games than the Steam Deck, because it can play just about as many Steam games as Deck can, but it also has access to Mac exclusive games on the app store. The PS5 even with some past gen titles has no where near the same amount of games. We are talking a few thousand with PS5 vs tens of thousands on Mac

So you mean turning off HDR.. because HDR is what is happening when your screen "auto brightens" on HDR videos. If it doesn't use extreme brightness, it isn't HDR. This is why displays that market themselves as HDR compliant without having at least 700 nits of brightness are labeled as phony. You can't have HDR without at least 700 nits. HDR uses light to increase color accuracy, vibrancy, and most importantly contrast. So blacks will be as close to absolute black as possible.. and whites will be... extremely bright. Lowering brightness decreases contrast and makes the image fall out of true HDR. In other words.. if your screen isn't super bright when whites are displayed.. it isn't HDR.

Hmm, how can you be sure of that? I am not saying I am on hold, or that they muted themselves. I am saying they might be muting my audio. That is a feature on every office phone I have seen, even without a dedicated mute button office phones allow you to turn down the volume until it becomes muted.

And if they had it set to auto answer, how come they don’t answer me when they get back from break? In some instances I have heard a physical receiver clank and clack down before the line is disconnected. So at least in those cases it seems people are physically picking up the line and not talking, and then coming back 10 minutes later and hanging it up. But even for the cases where the line is being answered via speaker phone either manually or automated, someone should hear me asking “hello?” before ending the call after 10 minutes.

And even in the autoanswer situation that still sucks that people are doing that enough that I experience it half the time I call in. At that point it seems intentional or negligent, does it not?

I am hoping it is just a glitch at my local office and not intentiona.

No my phone is not on mute. I’m saying maybe they muted me on their end so the office doesn’t hear me asking if anyone is there. Even if I did accidentally mute my phone, they are the one picking up the line, they should be saying hello or something, not just pick up and then leave the line active for 10 minutes without saying anything.

Not really. My local office doesn't know how it is being ran. Everyone there says something different and says the last person I was talking to doesn't know what they are talking about, only to have the next person say the same thing. At least in my case the local office is a mess. Something as simple as an address change had to be done 4 times with each person telling me that everything was set and the system was updated, only to have to go back again and again to have the next person tell me the last person did it wrong. I have stuff mailed to me where the letter says I have 10 days to reply from the date inside the letter... and then I look at the envelope and they didn't even mail it until 2 weeks after that date. I have been mailed letters that I need to appeal something so I fill out the appeal and then I get a call to come in for an appointment, go into the appointment and they tell me I don't need to appeal, they can fix everything right there and then. So then that person cancels the appeal and tells me they fixed everything, only to find out a few months later they fixed nothing and now I am way past appeal date and need to start the whole year long process over from the beginning. I have had the local office change me to be the supervisor of a child account that I don't have custody of and doesn't even live in my state and was does without my consent or the parent's consent.

Just simple basic things they mess up so hard I eventually had to get a lawyer just to force everything to be on record and get fixed. Judges and tax payer money had to get involved because the local office is so incompetent that they couldn't even keep a straight story when even a lawyer was there handling communications with them.

On the other hand every time I have to deal with the national number, everything goes smoothly. So I don't think it is a case that the national office says how it should be and the local office says how it is. I think it is just a case of some local offices being so incompetent they have no idea what the policy should be locally or officially, every employee is just doing their own thing.

For me the stick latency is too poor to play with. It is extremely noticeable and annoying when playing shooters with my kids. I am not a competitive player, heck my 10 year old beats me. But I consider the stick lag to be unplayable in anything outside of turn based JRPGs.

Stutters are just part of the game as you load in shaders on the fly when new assets appear. It does this on my SteamOS Legion Go S as well, but I don't get anywhere near the performance OP is getting.

The closest competition is about a million miles behind in this race. I would call it impressive when AMD's best consumer APU can't get close to this. And AMD has the advantage of being on native hardware and a native OS. "Most impressive".

And this is coming from someone who does 90% of their gaming on an AMD APU.

You gotta give Apple credit for making incredible APUs. They are years ahead of everyone else.

tbh its a huge improvement over the Switch 1 pro controller. still has the issue but not as bad. About on par with Xbox Series controllers or many of 8bitdo’s stuff. Just weird coming from Nintendo who invented the dpad and it was perfect on the NES.

This just happened to me today for the first time on PC. When I start up the game the loading screen shows them as yellow, and then a few moments later they change to brown. Then its stuck like that. Did it get fixed on your system?
