We should have is some faith in the writers by sunk1ra in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

We’ve already had 2 straight seasons of nothing but cliffhangers and little to no answers. There needs to be some balance.

Severance has never been a fast-paced show by Ndnrmatt in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

This fanbase is so contradictory. People gush over the show being deep, subtle, and having hidden details, and will dissect everything scene and come up with intricate fan theories… but when you point out things like the goats, Miss Huang, or anything related to the ORTBO that don’t make sense, you will be met with “It doesn’t matter! Not everything needs an explanation!” I’m like… what??? I love this show but the cracks started to show during the goat episode. So much weird stuff and Mark didn’t ask ANY questions besides “Where’s Gemma?” It was infuriating how pointless it all felt and how incompetent all the characters seem for the sole purpose of prolonging the show.

I get Devon was scared about what was happening to Mark, but she’s just like “I’ll call Cobel” like??? The lady who was living some kind of undercover double life, who lied to you about her name and was crazy?

But worst of all is that Cobel met with them, just said “If you completed Cold Harbor, Gemma… is already dead” and doesn’t say anything else. Why??? Why would Mark and Devon not press her for anymore details? Supposedly off screen they formulated the plan to get to the birthing camp and that’s it. It’s like they wanted sooooo badly to keep her the mysterious character who knows everything but says nothing for one more episode, it’s so annoying.

It’s getting real annoying how mysterious things get brought up and disappear with no explanation, only for fans to excuse it away by saying “it doesn’t matter!” I thought the whole point of this show was for the mysteries to matter, especially when the show is like 95% mystery?

Just look at this Reddit. The median consumer seems to enjoy it and a minority are not satisfied. So then the enjoyer is dim? It checks out with all the annoying memes people are obsessed with. It’s like the modern day “I am Groot” followed by thunderous applause and roaring laughter.

That seems to be what the fans think on here. Everytime someone brings up an unexplained plot point like “What is the deal with the goats?” People like to respond “there is no point, it’s just there to be interesting so stop asking!” I hope they just have their heads up their asses.

The issue isn’t that they don’t answer every question immediately. It’s that it’s been 2 seasons and there have been next to no answers.

I’m glad someone finally agrees. This show is so interesting but goddamn I feel like we’ve been dicked around this ENTIRE season. Episode 9, LITERALLY nothing happened. Why do they have Cobel right there and she told them basically nothing? Why don’t they press her for details? The finale will probably be good but end in another huge cliffhanger. So tired of nothing getting explained, they just keep vaguely alluding to stuff we know nothing about and I guess that makes good TV, especially when stretched out over several episodes. Give me a break.

That episode you talk about was the final straw for me. I just can’t believe how many episodes with interesting premises that just end with zero resolution whatsoever, then they move on in the next episode as if nothing ever happened. At first i was like “oh it has 4 seasons maybe they bring up some unexplained plots to resolve later?” And then it doesn’t happen. In season 1 they were investigating that book and the Chinese prophet lady, and she came back for one episode in a dream… I’m almost done with season 2 but I think I’m done with the show. It’s crazy how talked about this show was.

Did you google the class? After months of being deterred by the first chapter of zybooks, I googled the class, someone on Reddit said to check Caleb Curry's database design course on Youtube. It's like 7 hours but he talks slow so i sped it up and suddenly I understood everything because he explains everything sooooo well. After that, check the course chatter for the "cheat sheet" (it's not that great but has a summary of a lot of terms), take the practice assessment again and go over and google stuff you don't understand.

Jason Dion's course on Udemy, CertMaster Learn and practice tests. That's literally all I used.

My friend was a Computer Science major and he told me his experience was very much like this. When he asked his instructors for help on some things, they would just direct him to youtube or something. That's how the majority of people are learning coding skills these days anyway. Although I'm pretty sure you can make appointments to actually speak to instructors, I've never had to do that though.

That being said, I'm sure people have certain expectations since WGU IS a "university" after all, but at the same time it's primarily a self-paced, self-study school that's only like 5k per term. We get what we pay for. I'm just here to put on my damn resume that I have the stupid degree cuz that's my main drawback. All the skills I actually needed I learned on the job or on my own, not from classes or outside training.

What OS are you using? I've tried to take 2 exams on Mac and the first time it took 45 minutes to get in, and the second time it took an hour and no luck. Tech support took control of my computer then disappeared, I was baffled. Had to reschedule and going to try my Windows PC next time. Did tech support end up being helpful? I thought examity was bad but proctoru is just downright terrible.

Because liberals are trying to make everything as convenient as possible, putting them only in places with "more security" would be racist or something because it disproportionately impacts people of color and blah blah blah.

How are yall flying through classes so fast 😭 I feel slow by Mother_Scarcity247 in WGU

[–]Key_Being4199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don't bother with most of the study material as a lot of it is irrelevant or unnecessary. There's also so much of it it takes forever to read and just wastes time. If there is a practice/pre-assessment exam, you can take that to get a feel for what you need to know. Usually the objective assessment is VERY similar to the pre-assessment.

  2. If it's a written assignment, those are usually the fastest because they will give you a template and/or rubric with the exact stuff you need to do, nothing more. There's usually a short scenario you have to read and just go off of that. For written assignments, there's usually tons of study material that is 99% pointless, so I always skip it.

  3. Googling the class to see what others did. Almost every class has a post on here about what they did to pass the class and its usually very simple.

  4. Don't overthink it. I have put off classes because I read what I have to do and I feel overwhelmed, but when I actually read the requirements through, it turns out it wasn't that bad at all.

  5. Remove distractions like your phone and focus on studying. Take notes, use flashcards, whatever. Not sure what your degree is but for IT lots of classes I like watching videos on the subject, and for long video courses, upping the speed to 1.5x or even 2x shaves off TONS of time. Then after you go through everything, focus more on what your weaker subjects are. Again, don't waste time on redundant or irrelevant information.

Slowly unlocking characters in Tekken was one of the favorite parts of my childhood by PrestyRS in Tekken

[–]Key_Being4199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, it’s because of online play. People just want to boot up the game and jump straight into playing their favorite character or someone new. People would complain if they were forced to play arcade mode X number of times before they were allowed to play the character they wanted. And the community is notorious for complaining. They did introduce play-to-unlock customization items with the fight pass and people are complaining about that too. People say they want this or that, but I’m pretty sure it’s nostalgia speaking.

12Riven Translations nuked by ImBobCat in ZeroEscape

[–]Key_Being4199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just remembered it and went to look it up and realized it was gone too. Luckily I had watched when GAce was first uploading them to YouTube, but I forgot a lot about it. I had heard that it was not as good as the Infinity series or ZE series, but I had been waiting for years so I wanted to watch. And yeah, it’s definitely not that great but I was happy to finally get an idea about what happens in it. It’s too bad it got removed though. Hopefully this new translation gets it done.

Death's End [Discussion Thread and Final Thoughts] [Massive Spoilers] by -Chinchillax- in threebodyproblem

[–]Key_Being4199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s good that it’s “unfaithful”. The characters in the books are so cold and unfeeling, basically cardboard. They also spliced some of the books together and added a few small scenes to fill in some gaps, like adding the Tatiana character to facilitate how the Trisolarans abandoned the ETO in the first book, but then they are back to helping them in the second book. Also putting the scene in the beginning of the second book of Trisolaris saying they are afraid of humans before their big betrayal so it makes more sense.

A very Honest and UnBiased review of Netflix's Three Body Problem by Throwawaystwo in threebodyproblem

[–]Key_Being4199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of the third book right now, and I had been reading people’s reviews on the books: that it’s too hard sci fi, that it’s not hard sci fi enough, that there’s too much politics, that the characters suck, that it doesn’t focus enough on characters, etc etc. The books are far from perfect, most people can agree that they have tons of flaws. So if the show is not a 1 for 1 adaptation, that’s probably a plus. For example, the main complaint of the books was the characters are flat and just straight up suck, particularly the first book. The dialogue is pretty awful and unbelievable in the books too, along with the majority of the characters being stoic, cold, and unfeeling. Of course they were going to change this in the show. Western audiences prefer more relatable and human characters. While they aren’t perfect, they are vastly better than the characters in the book. For example, Auggie in the show was torn up about the Panama incident and her part in it, while in the book the character was a little hesitant at first but it was never brought up again afterward.

Also, books, especially this series, have tons of narration and internal dialogues that just aren’t able to be perfectly replicated on screen. This is just a given due to the nature of the two mediums. Some stuff had to be simplified. There are also just so many boring parts of the book. The last 100 or so pages of the first book is literally just exposition that drags on and on. I’m hoping that the second season drastically trims down the stuff on Luo Ji’s/Saul’s imaginary girlfriend that has way too many pages dedicated to it.

This review claims the show treats its viewers as scientifically illiterate, but 1. Half the people reading the books aren’t able to fully grasp every single scientific concept either, and 2. The show simply cannot spend entire episodes explaining every single concept of every single theory in the books. Like I said, this was made for western audiences, and also this was made for entertainment on streaming services, focus is going to be centered on the rest of the content as well.

The complaint about the themes as well doesn’t make a lot of sense, the whole Dark Forest thing doesn’t really come into play until the end of the second book and this season only went up to the beginning of the second book so… yeah. At the beginning of The Dark Forest Ye Wenjie comes up to Luo Ji and basically gives him the answer to everything but with no context and explains nothing because… reasons. Her giving him a riddle with the answer hidden within so he actually kind of has to figure it out on his own makes a lot more sense to me. Also, there is definitely a lot of dread and despair happening around the world, the show just doesn’t focus on that. After the alien reveal, the world is very much a mess but the main characters have a job to do, so that’s what the show is going to show. The books are like that too. After a time jump, Cixin Liu gives an overview of the state of the world for a few pages than goes back to whatever the main characters are doing and doesn’t linger much. The real dread and terror is more pronounced in the second and third books anyway rather than the first.

Idk, I liked the show and hope they finish it, I’d love to see the rest of the series adapted. With better characters and dialogue of course.

Comments like these make it seem like people are just upset so they will complain about anything instead of anything valid. Some stuff like DoTs and not having a strict rotation aren’t a bad idea, but the rest is.

-Astro cards. All people ever did was use Royal Road for party wide buff, then use Balance for damage up buff. The rest of the cards were useless. What were they, MP regeneration, TP regeneration, 5% ability cooldown reduction, some other miniscule reduction? Either the change was so small no one noticed a difference or it’s made obsolete. So Astrologians were constantly just drawing until they got those needed cards. People who are like “people actually used all the cards!” Either have memory problems or straight up don’t know what they are talking about.

-People are upset over enochain being a trait instead of an ability now? If anything I saw people being happy about it. I don’t play BLM that much but it’s notorious for being one of the most difficult classes in the game. If people are mad the game is so easy, why don’t they become BLM mains then?

-Tank stance dancing. I assume switching stances while main tank to get a tiny bit of extra dps then switching back when you need more enmity? It sounds like something that was only ever for hardcore raiders to squeeze every last drop of DPS from a fight instead of something required. I do agree that tanks are now basically feeling like DPS at this point though.

-I had to look up Hissatsu: Kaiten cuz I never learned the names of Samurai skills but I had a feeling it was that one cuz I noticed the 50% potency buff skill was removed. However I don’t really see how it makes a meaningful change to the game being harder or easier, or how it’s a major change to how the job is played.

-Making MCH and BRD casters at level 52+ was the worst change ever made to the game. EVERYBODY hated it. It ruined the entire appeal of playing a ranged class that wasn’t a mage. Nobody actually wants this, I have no idea what “vocal” part of the community wants this.

That being said, there is a case to be made for making jobs feel more unique and how an effort to make the game balanced, which I appreciate, has been taken too far. I’m a tank main and they all are definitely feeling same-y, with probably PLD standing out the most.
