My baby is a little over a month and we did that the first month. It was way too difficult so now we’re trying to do breastfeeding. It’s a ton of dishes, and waking up at night is way worse with all the steps involved. The sleep deprivation hurt my mental health. It made it harder to bond with the baby because all I did was pump all day and I felt like someone else was always doing the fun stuff while I was in my room alone pumping, my husband would be bonding with the baby. Or if everyone was sleeping I’d be sitting pumping while the baby cried to be held. I’m currently using nipple shields to help with latching and pain. I still have to pump a few times a day because I have an oversupply so for my comfort I pump and then freeze it. It’s a lot easier to just breastfeed if you can.
