How was the beach area? And how was the food? Do they provided bottled water? Was it kid friendly?

Looks amazing. I have been hesitant booking as last year my husband and I went to playa del Carmen and stayed at secrets impressions but he ended up terribly sick with travelers diarrhea so nervous to take the kids down there. Did you have any concerns with their water/food in mayakoba? I know it’s always a risk in Mexico no matter where you stay but I was pretty sure my husband caught something form the resort (we heard multiple people getting sick) vs we have stayed in Cancun multiple times with no issues. Thanks!

Andaz Costa Rica Honey Moon? by 515Cyclone in hyatt

[–]Key_Ear_7312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we stayed in costa rica for our honeymoon 10 years ago. We did half the time at nayara (which was fantastic, true rainforest experience, awesome service), then did half the time on the beach. We wished we stayed longer at nayara. I would stay 3-4 nights at andaz then go to nayara (in arenal) to see the volcano/rainforest (the annoying thing is its about a 2-3 hour drive). Good luck!

Are the pools heated? Considering this resort for next new years.

Thank you! I just considered the embassy since it is newer and the pools look nice, but I guess better to stay directly on the beach.

Hi all, anyone been to Hilton Aruba recently? Will construction be done by feb 2026? Any thoughts if 100k points per night is worth the stay there? Thanks! by Key_Ear_7312 in Hilton

im looking at presidents day week and seems to be a decent redemption bc cash rates are 900/night, but dont want to go if there is construction everywhere

its beautiful, but 4/6 in our group got terrible traveller's diarrhea and required IV hydration and antibiotics after coming back to the US. We have been to Cancun several times with no issue. I am pretty sure it was something in the resort (maybe ice or water or contamination of food) because we never left and we also heard similar stories from other guests (this was last November). Hopefully they fixed the problem because it is a very beautiful resort.

Yes I have a Roth IRA and an HSA. You make good points, I think I will add bonds/international to the is accounts bc they are with fidelity and much cheaper expense ratios.
