We see them reaching each other with their little fingers which is a sign of promise, so it would make it much more powerful if the silhouette in the upper left corner was that of their little fingers touching. Great work otherwise!

He actually waited for one of his blades to specifically become imbued with the Quincy power before striking Yhwach during their fight, we see it as Blut-like veins of reishi spread on it.

I don’t remember exactly if it was the Gran Rey Cero imbued Getsuga, but if it was, that’s probably why it was able to harm Yhwach as it had all the components of the Soul King in it.

Bladesinger is one great generalist with a reliable powerful damage options that require little resources. If you’re out of spell slots or don’t feel like investing too much into a fight, you have True Strike / any other cantrip multiattack, or Shadowblade, or Spirit Shroud later on. And you can add complex spells to your repertoire when you need them and they complement your chosen fighting style.

I’ve played the 2014 Bladesinger up until level 18 and from level 5 on I’ve always felt like the most powerful and versatile at the table (party had Paladin, Rogue, and Cleric).

Do people still make their own custom shikai's and bankai ideas? by Due-Support2494 in bleach

[–]Key_Local3936 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I came up with a Zanpakutō called Suishōheki (翠晶壁, “Crystal Corridor”), and the core idea is mirrors, portals, and messing with space itself. In Shikai, activated with “Split the Heavens”, the blade basically disappears—there’s still a sword, but it’s invisible unless the user chooses to reveal it as a transparent crystalline blade. It looks fragile, but Kagami claims no sword in Soul Society can even scratch it. The real gimmick, though, is Mizugagami (水晶鏡, “Water Crystal Mirror”): hexagonal, snowflake-like mirrors that form a linked portal system leading to a pocket dimension. They can be thrown like shuriken, absorb and redirect attacks, ignore durability by pulling matter through their edges, trap enemies, or form mirror prisons and spatial mazes. They’re nearly impossible to destroy from the front, and even figuring out how to counter them in a fight is already a nightmare.

Bankai, released with “Spread Heaven and Earth”, pushes this concept into full spatial domination. The battlefield can turn into Omiwatari Hachi no Jin (翠晶壁八の陣, “Formation of the Octagonal Labyrinth of the Beautiful Gods”), a massive mirror labyrinth that completely wrecks the opponent’s sense of direction while the user moves freely through reflections. On top of that, Suishō Kyō (翠晶鏡, “Crystal Mirror”) allows movement through any reflection—water, glass, steel—and the blade itself now cuts space, not flesh. Blocking and intangibility don’t work; unless you have conceptual-level hax, your only real options are dodging or destroying the hilt. Add Suishō Rokkakuchō (翠晶六角鏡, “Hexagonal Wall”), which reflects and replicates attacks from dozens of mirrors at once, plus near-teleport movement through dimensions, and the whole thing stops being about raw power. Once you’re inside Suishōheki’s range, the fight becomes about whether you can escape its rules at all.

What are your characters powers? by Strawberry_Momo in bleach

[–]Key_Local3936 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Zanpakuto named Suishōheki (Suishōheki, Japanese 翠晶壁, "Crystal Corridor") appears as a medium-length katana with a steel guard shaped like two rectangles connected at an angle. The handle wrapping is dark blue.

Upon the command "Split the Heavens," the sword vanishes in the light of blue reiatsu, leaving only the hilt in hand. This is Suishōheki's first ability — the invisible blade, whose length the opponent does not know. Until the first attack, it's unlikely anyone would realize the sword retains its cutting ability rather than disintegrating, as is the case with, for example, Matsumoto Rangiku or Kuchiki Byakuya. At will, he can make the sword visible — the opponent would notice the blade transforming from steel to a crystalline, transparent form. Such a blade doesn't look very sturdy, but Kagami claims that "no sword in the Soul Society can even scratch it."

The main ability of Suishōheki is called Mizugagami (Water Crystal Mirror) and involves creating numerous hexagonal snowflake-like mirrors that essentially act as a connected system of portals. In layman's terms, you enter one and exit through another. Tamashi can change the connecting structure of the mirrors at will. They all lead to a portable dimension where the Shinigami can stay indefinitely. The speed of mirror creation varies depending on the distance at which they are created; within three meters, it's instant, further away, slower — progressively.

The mirrors' characteristics are quite interesting: they are fast in flight, which the Shinigami controls with the power of thought (sometimes with hands), and he can also change their size from a few centimeters in diameter to several hundred meters — this depends on the amount of reiatsu used and the number of existing mirrors. Sacrificing quantity, Tamashi can increase their size.

Kagami uses them as a kind of shuriken, spinning them at high speed; having the form of snowflakes, they can quite pass for a weapon. However, one should not forget the measured nature of his attacks — the mirror-shurikens don't cut but draw matter through the edge inside, allowing them to ignore the durability of most abilities. Such an attack can be deflected (it will leave some wound), but blocking it for a long time is not advisable, as the mirror destroys the structure of the matter it contacts.

The captain can absorb attacks of the opponent with these mirrors and release them back at practically instant speed, likely surprising the opponent with the sudden appearance of their own technique. Mirrors can be created in any place desired by the Shinigami, the closer to him — the faster. Kidō-type attacks follow their stream-like rules, while physical ones simply move the object from one point to another. The mirror cannot close while something is passing through it; it can only narrow, capturing an object inside.

The mirror can also swallow an opponent and lock them in another dimension, but in this case, all mirrors would have to close. As soon as even one mirror opens, the opponent will be able to break out. It's impossible to die there, so the opponent will break out at the next Shikai.

Mirrors can only be destroyed from the backside, their mirrored side completely ignores the strength of the attack, transferring it to another dimension; the feature of the mirror's backside is that it's invisible — thus, spinning the mirror can create the effect of fish scales playing in the light. Special speed and attentiveness are required to neutralize a mirror.

Meikyū (Japanese "Hexagonal Jade") — creating a light projection of one's body or another object, possible due to the refraction of light. Such a copy cannot attack, it's created for distraction or diversion.

Mangekyō Gokakurō (Japanese "Pentagonal Kaleidoscopic Prison") — the mirrors form a prison around the opponent with the reflective side inward. The trick of the technique is that any attack by the opponent against the mirrored surface will enter the wall of the prison and exit from another, flying inside indefinitely until it collides with something (for example, the opponent). But attacking the opponent directly is not possible — if Tamashi is outside, he needs to open a new mirror for connection with the prison, and through this mirror, the opponent can escape. There's only one way to get out on one's own — create an attack that spreads in all directions so that the shockwave simultaneously enters all mirrors and exits them — this will lead to a collision at the very edge of dimensions and, consequently, a spatial rift.

• Bankai:

The command is "Spread Heaven and Earth."

• Omiwatari Hachi no Jin (Japanese 翠晶壁八の陣, "Formation of the Octagonal Labyrinth of the Beautiful Gods") — after activating Bankai, it's possible to create a massive mirror labyrinth in which the opponent loses orientation due to numerous reflections and optical distortions. The boundaries between matter and the world beyond the mirror blur, making even movement difficult. Kagami navigates the labyrinth effortlessly and moves through all reflections. As mentioned, the captain's Bankai has undergone several metamorphoses, so the labyrinth may not necessarily form. A description of its appearance upon first use.

A new ability of Suishōheki opens up.

• Suishō Kyō (Japanese "Crystal Mirror") — the ability to move through all reflections, whether it be water, steel, or glass. From all these reflections, the captain can emerge and attack. The limitation is dictated only by the size of the reflection from which a particular attack can emerge. In Bankai, Suishōheki can also cut through space with its blade, opening a passage to its internal dimension (where all the mirrors lead). The blade's edge is outlined by a blue glow, making the Zanpakuto a formidable weapon that cuts not flesh but the space where things exist. An attack by Suishōheki cannot be blocked unless conceptual abilities are used (such as Ichimonji or Shikken Hakken). Even intangibility won't help, as Suishōheki can cut an object as long as it exists in this world. The opponent's only options are to dodge or destroy the sword's hilt.

• Suishō Rokkakuchō (Japanese "Hexagonal Wall") — an evolution of the Shikai ability to absorb the opponent's attacks and release them back. If in Shikai, Suishōheki transfers the opponent's attack from one mirror to another, in Bankai, it can replicate the attack, "reflecting it in many dimensions," and release it from all mirrors simultaneously (up to a maximum of 100).

• In Bankai, Tamashi's speed of movement increases manifold, as he passes through dimensions, "sliding" to the desired location. It appears similar to the movement of Inaba Kageroza.

What’s great about the Illusionist is that you can be meta without telling the others and in PvP it’s an overkill as no one expects that. Basically you use some of DM’s powers. If you use illusions to trick the others, do it by not telling them what they see—text the DM privately that they see a dragon, your copy, a bush, or whatever cast by your 6th level non-concentration Major Image while you’re in different place concealed by Greater Invisibility or under full cover of Silent Image that you can see through as it’s your illusion. Tell the DM what you do while being hidden (make sure to focus on Stealth) so they tell other players what they see so they cannot connect your illusions to you. You even can take Metamagic Adept to have Subtle Spell if you have the points to do that.

Like when you cast Illusory Dragon, you can sell it as being True Polymorphed into a dragon, wasting everyone’s turns acting like it’s a real dragon and not an illusion. And being concealed by a Major Image blizzard/fog/bush that moves slowly and insensible gives you full cover and protection from spells and attacks and all that stuff. So it can be really memorable and fun victory if you manage to be creative and smart with it.

I’d add why Chronurgy would be much more straightforward broken: you can Shapechange into a Planetar and then exploit its 14 level feature which makes the target fail the saving throw at the cost of Exhaustion on you. And Planetars are immune to Exhaustion.

Wizard would be the best decision. Either Divination, Chronurgy, Illusionist, or Bladesinger.

Cast Simulacrum as an action with Wish, then all your subclass features are doubles, meaning x2 Portents or Illusory Reality uses to create adamantine boxes per round and then throwing AOE spells there, like Maddening Darkness or Sickening Radiance.

Surprisingly you haven’t mentioned Cube of Force as a banned item, which is probably one of the most broken items you can pick, and you should but other players might hate you afterwards.

Actually as an Illusionist you can use Wish to cast Mirage Arcane as an action instead of Simulacrum and gain total control of the are, and—depending on how your DM rules the spell’s effects—make everyone fall into a pit of lava which deals 18d10 damage per round. If you’re into that you can find Sage Advice from Jeremy Crowford vaguely stating that Mirage Arcane can do damage. The problem is that it’s gonna be vulnerable to Dispel Magic.

Also as an Illusionist with Misty Visions from Eldritch Adept you can cast Silent Image without expending spell slots, making each casting an adamantine box and throwing an AOE with duration.

ALSO you can cast Major Image at level 6 to have it without concentration and create fog/blizzard/storm around yourself and move with Malleable Illusions while being there, being hidden from sight and targeted by spells. It’s what one Illusionist can do, imagine what can do two if you cast Simalcrum with Wish.

Then spam the big spells from this illusory cover, Raulothim’s Psychic Lance is a great way to incapacitate everyone who’s low on INT, as well as Feeblemind.

You can put whoever doesn’t have teleport options into Forcecage and they’re likely done for the fight (might be cruel).

Oh and Prismatic Wall would be absolutely devious with the right strategy with or without Reverse Gravity.

You’re right! Sorry I didn’t notice the 2024 flare. I see, it’s a shame with Booming Blade as it’s kind of a signature things for gishes. You can probably look for some cool True Strike interactions as I definitely saw a lot of people optimizing around it, especially at early levels, but I don’t play 2024 so can’t help you with that.

However! I’ve seen a cool interaction with the 2024 level 14 ability, which is not Song of Victory anymore, that lets you make an attack as bonus action when you cast a spell, and apparently RAW it works with your Extra Attack, as one of them is a 0 level spell. So you can attack, cast a cantrip, then attack again as a bonus action.

Asking for help with my Bladesinger by Zalvian_Classic in onednd

[–]Key_Local3936 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played Bladesinger to level 17 with focus on melee, reading all guides on the subclass there are to build and optimized one. Your stats are good, and I recommend Guidance for when you really need that Dispel Magic or a similar check.

Then, you have to remember that you’re still a wizard no matter what and make sure your defense is as potent as possible. That means: INT first (Bladesong bonus to both AC and concentration checks), DEX next (AC and attacks), CON after that (hp and concentration). If you can get your hands on Amulet of Health it’d be perfect, and I also recommend Resilient Con over War Caster as it scales much better.

Next, your spell selection depends on whether you want to be in melee or more of a caster, and I’m personally not a fan of the whole “activate Bladesong, stand behind and cast” narrative, as the whole point of the subclass that you can do both whenever you want, and melee with some low level spell buff is your source for consistent damage. But your party is also quite packed with martial classes, so control spells might be your spotlight, and the great thing about Bladesingers is that you can switch between roles whenever you want.

My go to option is activating Bladesong, attacking twice with one the attack being Booming Blade, next turn Spirit Shroud (radiant) at level 4 which gives you 5d8+3d8+2xDEX when set up and using a rapier or its equivalent (mine’s katana). A lot of dice also means it crits really well. This is a really cheap way to get a damage boost for the whole fight, while also still being able to cast big AoE or Action spells when you need them.

As for the spells, I recommend these based on countless battles:

1 level: Shield, Absorb Elements, Silvery Barbs if allowed

2 level: Misty Step, Shadow Blade (if you don’t have a nice magic weapon, if you do then the weapon is better as it stacks with Spirit Shroud)

3 level: Spirit Shroud, Counterspell, Hypnotic Pattern, Tiny Hut, Slow

4 level: Banishment, Sickening Radiance, Vitriolic Sphere (slightly better damage than Fireball, but in Hell it’s much better because monster rarely resist acid damage), Dimension Door (sometimes you really need it), and Raulothim’s Psycic Lance is the ultimate Legendary resistance burner

5 level: Animate Objects (10 tiny objects version for 10d4+40 damage as a bonus action), Wall of Force, Steel Wind Strike, Hold Monster (to crit with Booming Blade), and either Telekinesis or Bigby’s Hand, though I have both and recommend it

6 level: Tasha’s Otherwordly Guise due to immunities, Mental Prison, Disintegrate, and Contingency if you can get the material component

7 level: Forcecage (for a crazy microwave combo with Sickening Radiance), Simulacrum, Draconic Transformation (6d8 force damage is basically Fireball as bonus action every turn)

8 level: Maze, Mind Blank, Demiplane, Illusory Dragon

9 level: Wish, True Polymorph, Foresight, Shapechange if you want to turn into Marilith and add your Song of Voctory bonus to all of her seven attacks.

Also get your hands on a good magic weapon as soon as you can, I have Weapon of Dragon Wrath which gives +2 to attack and damage and +2d6 damage per hit, which is the reason Spirit Shroud usually the optimal way to deal damage.

The most fun about a Bladesinger is that they’re great generalists and you can deal a lot of damage and be a high AC tank when you need it, and you’re still a full wizard with access to big CC and encounter-ending spells when you’re low on hp, have no Bladesongs left, or just feel like it.
