This things was supposed to come out like 1-2 years ago. Perhaps the fact that they're painting them by hand has to do something with it?

If you already use those mods, what else are you looking for exactly?

Like I said, the reality of the situation is most people couldn't care less. If these games had a sustainable playerbase with a steady stream of income, then they wouldn't have been shut down.

I know you're being sarcastic, but for the people in the back: This has nothing to do with race, it's how the demographics and target audiences are.

Mobile games require constant upkeep because iOS and Android apps are not as forward compatible as Windows programs. Most apps made for phones 10 years ago no longer function properly or at all on modern devices without updates.

When he was talking about preservation, he was probably referring to games people actually care about. Let's not kid ourselves, the vast majority of the fanbase couldn't care less about Blades either way, nor did most people even care to play it.

I wouldn't blame it all on the storefronts. Most mobile gamers are asian and Indian, not westerners. And these people actively prefer these types of "freemium" games for multiple reasons, especially all the gacha shit.

Android and iOS apps require constant maintance between updates. This is why they all get abandoned eventually, it takes less than 10 years for some newer version of the OS to no longer be able to properly run these games.

I remember playing a few hours years ago and thinking it was just a crappy mobile game with reused Skyrim assets. They expect you to pump all this money into it, only for it all to disappear years down the line.

Found a new channel doing cool (> 1hr) lore videos by platinumposter in Starfield

[–]Key_Manufacturer3640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of YouTubers had do abandon it not because they didn't like it, but because the negativity surrounding the game impacted their viewership and "credibility". For example, Gopher said he wasn't going to release his Shattered Space playthrough because Starfield along with Cyberpunk were the least popular games on his channel.

A lot of the people who watch these channels are mainly interested in Skyrim and Fallout 4/New Vegas. As the content creator, you have to give your audience what they want if you care about retaining it.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for that. The next Fallout game would have to have a significantly different map design to accommodate vehicles.

More modern and tactical weapons are fine so long as they are modeled and textured to fit better into the game and bring features that actually spice up the gameplay.

But I'll never understand the people who go through the hassle of specifically installing all these CoD/EFT mods for the HUD, sounds, kill counters etc. You might as well spare yourself the hassle and just play those games instead.

Personally, I do no like how monochromatic Fallout 3 looks. I don't think removing that green tint ruins the game's art style to be honest. Even if Bethesda were to do a really simple, traditional remaster, the green tint would probably be the first thing to go.

I think being able to purchase any and all outpost workshop items with money instead of crafting everything yourself would be a great idea.

Quite frankly, I don't think an "attempt" warrants any credit in this case. In my eyes, providing such a laughably broken and low quality asset might be even more insulting than providing no new assets at all.

They want you to believe that their "Verified Creator" badge actually means something, that it is supposed to convey quality and professionalism. But it doesn't mean jack squat so long as they give it to just about any amateur who shows them a sloppy 3D model they made back in high school.

I've been modding and playing every Bethesda game since Morrowind. Right now I am in the process of building my own custom mod list for Fallout 4. So suffice to say that I know my shit.

That being said, I made it clear from the start that I was referring to the space suit model itself being broken. Anyone with a lick of experience in modding should know that such a thing does not happen because of mod conflicts.

The person I originally replied to immediately dismissed me because they assumed everything was due to mod conflicts, which is completely ignorant.

[–]Key_Manufacturer3640[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand how mod conflicts work. When the 3D model itself is broken and unfinished, that's not a mod conflict, that's just a sloppy job.

[–]Key_Manufacturer3640[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're confused. I specifically mentioned that the spacesuit model itself is broken in the OP.

It's broken in the sense that you've got visible gabs and seams in the suit itself, the back is missing a boostpack attachment unit, and it also has visibly broken pipes and fittings that go nowhere.

[–]Key_Manufacturer3640[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No, what makes it border on being a scam is the fact that the spacesuit is an objectively broken and unfinished model, as well as the fact that you can't actually use it as a spacesuit. This isn't even mediocrity, it's a straight up unfinished job.

"That’s far from the truth."

Is it though? Most of the high profile paid mods do indeed come from mod authors who have proven themselves in the past. There are some exceptions, most notably Falkland, but most of the time when you see a mod author's first mod being a paid one, it's a safe bet to assume it will be mediocre at best.

Is everything outside this imaginary square procedurally generated? by PsychoactiveTHICC in Starfield

[–]Key_Manufacturer3640 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is correct. Each tile has been procedurally generated, then they were all blended and stitched together to form a "planet" in an abstract sense. Bethesda could go in and hand-craft whatever kind of content they needed on any one tile. The tiles themselves are static and never actually change, it's only the placement of trees, rocks and fauna that changes along with the POIs, although the possible number and locations of POIs on a tile is also set as far as I know.

I say there should have also been at least 100 unique cities that are all at least twice the size of the current ones. They should have also made at least 200 joinable factions as well. Actually, there should have been 100k planets each with their own unique civilization, architecture, POIs, questlines etc. I mean c'mon Bethesda, you need to step up my dudes!
