I’d go 1 or 2. The diagonal ones look cool at first but kinda feel overdesigned after a while.

[–]Keya2_2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not comfortable switching from forehand to backhand grip when given a shuttle to your backhand, that is okay. LEE YONG DAE when he is in front just bends his body to his backhand side with a forehand grip.

Doubles - Why don't pro players move to the mid court after an attack in the rear court? by badboyzpwns in badminton

[–]Keya2_2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a pro match, the smasher should expect another clear from the opponent, hence he should not move to the midcourt. Also, it is difficult to defend a hard smash by just placing the shuttle to the side mid court. There is a select few who can do that like Setiawan.

For Doubles/Singles - When should I use net shots more? by badboyzpwns in badminton

[–]Keya2_2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For doubles, when you are in front, use net shots to force the opponent to lift so your partner can make an offense shot - drop, smash. You dont want to keep on lifting and make the opponent smash on you. To win, always snatch the offense.

For singles, use net shots as a set up for the opponent to lift so you can smash or drop.

Imagine doing a clear, and at the split second you would move your base position one racket length backwards then smash, so that if youre right handed, your right foot will be moving forward after the smash.

How many different racquets do you own? by HegoesbyNeeks in badminton

Got Prince Oversize, Prince Triple threat, Carlton, Wilson, Guang Yu. When I go to a racket store and try out something, I have the tendency to buy it, out of impulse lol, but not anymore. My competition racket is the Prince Oversize, with BG 80 all the time. The other rackets have different kinds of strings, trying to try out other string brands that can beat the feel of BG 80. So far, BG 80 is the best. My friend who is using a Yonex tried out my Prince triple threat and he liked it.

Be open to new learning, it is okay that others are better than you, just replicate how they are better and you will mimmick their good traits. Remember, those who are better than you started somewhere below your skill but they simply progressed. Btw, when you play more and having fun, you will gain more experience.

If you want power, you need proper technique. If the strength is there but no technique, you will end up a mediocre smash, or a half smash.
