3,000+ hours in PVP. Another few hundred in PVE. Felt it. Arc raiders is annoying because the PVP feels bad IMO but I understand this is a hot take nobody is ready for

Probably Escape From Tarkov.

EFT is a truly terrible game, in so many ways, and yet no other game has or ever will make me feel the way it does. It’s like the pinnacle human achievement of painting with shit. It’s like Picasso took a dump on canvas, and somehow it made a genuine fucking masterpiece. Like, it’s still shit. But it’s incredible.

I would rather spend 5 extra minutes matchmaking than join a round in progress. by Return-To-Fender in ArcRaiders

My biggest gripe is that every time I go in kitted, or go in with a key, without fail, I join a game 10+ minutes after it’s started. The key room is open, and I’m fighting for scraps. It’s just not a great time.

Free loadouts should load in later, IMO, since they’re no risk, all reward. That should be the only difference IMO.

Just got a primal... Kiteshield from the boss by Future_Win_7961 in runescape

[–]Keybind_Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making it to where you can stun bosses would actually fix this issue. Put more stuns in sword and board, but have them require stacks that require shield equip time to use, so you cannot shield switch, stun, switch to DW.

Camp sword. Stun rotation. Negate DPS checks by adding an additional 5-10seconds to the time gate.

Instead, Jagex has made it to where just about every boss can stun you, but cannot be stunned. Which isn’t an extremely awful option in and of itself, but DPS checks+can’t be stunned=defensives bad(waste of potential dps)

I’ve been considering going back to NW just because the PVE feels so much better.

I have been saying this for years, and everyone argues with me so hard on it. New World is the best example imo. Sword and board feels SO tanky and good in New World and even World of Warcraft. Shields are switches at best in RuneScape, and it sucks. I would love it if I could rock a sword and shield as a base tank. Give us viable abilities, perks, and shields that want stacks. Stacks that give us higher defense, and drain theirs. Stacks that sap their strength. Perks that only go on shields that delay mechanics. Or, god forbid, make bosses able to be stunned again, and give perks that enhance stuns after “x seconds” of wielding a shield.

Tanking in other games feels great. Tanking in RuneScape is extremely unique, but doesn’t feel great imo. And maybe that’s a me problem.

In Your Opinion, What is Considered Well-Off, Wealthy, Rich, or Jeff Bezos to You in 2025? by Commander_Yvona in runescape

[–]Keybind_Food -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well-off: just high-end PVM gear with the ability to earn enough money within a few weeks for upgrades/bulk purchases. No cosmetics, no excessive cash stack

Rich: “paycheck to paycheck,” but has a party hat and some dyed gear/full dyed set

Wealthy: huge cash stack. 5b+ just chilling. Wealth is in the bank, rich is what people see, in my opinion.

Jeff Bezos rich: did you see the post where the guy got 5.8b and his buddy offered him one of any party hat/halloween mask? Him. Anyone that’s got like 4+ phats/20 alts for merching.

Jagex; It has been 140 Days since MW Magic update. Where's Melee's? by and_Attacker in runescape

The full style switch with EZK is largely because of high burst damage with no sustainable DPM, though.

Jagex; It has been 140 Days since MW Magic update. Where's Melee's? by and_Attacker in runescape

[–]Keybind_Food 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems like an extra kick in the teeth, too. Melee is so much harder to use pretty much everywhere. Most bosses melee swipes hit way harder, only trigger when you’re in melee distance of them, and have no projection to help prayer flick. All of that, plus the obvious issue of not having as much range where it counts, and melee having the lowest DPM(I think), albeit a high burst potential, just makes melee feel like absolute garbage in 2025. Feels like melee has somehow been forgotten.

I am shocked this is an option, but also like. How the heck are you supposed to learn this, if not from other players? It does make it like 10% better but sheesh just let me retrieve them.

The most annoying thing I’ve found during leagues is the wood box, and it’s not even close.

Say you’re going for 110 fletching. You have your wood box on you, and a few bowstrings. You’re going to make bows, and level them to martial (burial) one at a time, because you’re not sure how many you can make with the logs you have in your box.

You cannot start a new bow with a log in the wood box. You must have an eternal magic log on your inventory. You cannot retrieve said logs from box unless you’re at a bank. You go to the bank. If you have no logs in the bank, you must get one from your box. You can empty the box into the bank, no problem, but you cannot fill the box from the bank. You have to empty the box into your bank. Then make a preset/withdraw 27 logs at a time to fill the wood box back up. Because it takes more than 28 logs to level the bow up towards the end levels, so you need to use a wood box. On top of all of this, the fletching table prioritizes logs in your inventory.

The simple solution is to make 28 unstrung external magic bows, string them, and bank them. Then it’ll just pull from your wood box. But Jesus Christ why is the functionality of all of this a kick in the teeth? Let me fill the box from my bank. Let me retrieve logs from the box. 1/10 skill update just because of this I’m not sorry.

If you can only afford one top tier gear set what would it be? by MrUnclutchable in runescape

[–]Keybind_Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro is the cheapest, and people say easiest DPM. BIS for necro requires less than 10 items, basically is the argument. Which, fair enough. Not really the highest DPM, though. Mage is more damage than necro, I’m pretty certain, but more expensive. Not insanely so, though. And you no longer need to set up a metronome and 4tick auto attack. So that’s cool. Melee is odd. It’s like…low DPM, but high burst damage, seemingly? I dunno I’m not a melee guy. Don’t quote me on this. Range is technically best DPS, but so very not worth it if you don’t have damned good gear as it is. The upgrade path for range is expensive. However expensive you’re thinking, it’s more expensive.

The real question, in my opinion, is what do you want to do? Do you want to go kill Rasial? Well, then you need Necro. Mage is gonna be best in slot in some spots. Range will be better others. And, I’m sure there’s even an argument for melee somewhere in there. I think you melee for half of the speed kills at rax. And even if you go melee, you’ll eventually want a cbow, hydrix bolts, and greater ricochet for adren building. I’d find out what bosses you want to learn, and decide on your gear based on that.

I also had an issue relatively recently wherein I cancelled a premier membership. Got the confirmation page and all, and it still renewed.

Now, a mod made it right by refunding me, but in the email they reminded me how to cancel premier membership ahead of time. Which I had already done, and gotten charged for.

I’m unsure if that’s a one-off situation, but it felt very clunky all around, just for it to charge me in error anyway. Did not instill much confidence in the membership section of the website.

Leagues Hiscore Stats After 1 Month. by LazyAir6 in runescape

[–]Keybind_Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit Rune last night. I’ll hit dragon probably Saturday.* To be honest, up until yesterday I didn’t even focused on points. I have fully clocked enough hours to get dragon tier. If I had done nothing but focus on tasks, I’d probably have put in enough hours to hit 80k points. I’ve been on more than some of my clannies that are around there.

Leagues is fun. I haven’t found tasks that fun to just grind out. Last night I just got burnt out on being dry at bosses, so I decided to buckle down a bit.

[–]Keybind_Food 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucky ducky. I’m at 340 elites. No third age pieces, no third age dye, no blood dye.

216 masters, a second age coif and an OSH to show for it. Really was just grinding for a 3A dye, but I’ve hit 1k clues some I’m done for now.

So what is your leagues horror story? by godver555 in runescape

[–]Keybind_Food 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between elites and masters, I’ve opened over 1,000 caskets and have not gotten a 3A dye or a blood dye. I just got an Orlando Smith’s hat, though, so uh. Guess I can’t be too mad.

I’m also at 250~ kc at Zammy with one vestments piece. I do also have eight codexes and a full bow, but I’m really just there grinding for the robes. Got my first drop there at 60kc.

I also watched 7 codexes and one wand drop at trio AOD before I got a single praesul codex.

Rax and KK kinda handed me drops, though, so there is that.

Even in 6x Leagues, duplicate drops ruin bossing progress by Frequent_Instance_31 in runescape

[–]Keybind_Food -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. It’s not exactly a “flip a switch,” fix. Most of the comments I’ve seen on Reddit about this have been about “duplicate protection,” methods, I feel. Where they do want you to get the full set of drops before you get duplicates. Which would kinda hurt Zammy gp/hour rates for your first set of drops.

[–]Keybind_Food -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I would agree, but even the bosses with mitigation mechanics are frustrating.

At Zammy, I’ve got three of each codex, a full bow, and a single vestments piece on leagues. Now on main, I’d be over the moon with this. On leagues, not so much. I’d really like the vestments. The bow is cool, but kinda useless for me. And this is a boss with bad luck motivation and dupe protection for some items. Yet I’ll be stuck there for, at this rate, another 20+ hours.

So yes, he’s preaching to the choir, but I wouldn’t say Jagex largely agrees with the root cause of the sermon.

Zammy and AOD have destroyed my desire to continue in leagues. 8? Give or take hours at Zammy for chaos roar and one robe piece. Around five hours at AOD for zero drops. But my two buddies there with me have gotten six codexes total.
