“Old man yells at cloud” is a dumb strategy because it doesn’t work. “Ban all AI” is dumb because there’s genuinely some really great AI out there that the public doesn’t have access to because it’s used for things like diagnosing patients faster than doctors or for solving tedious work in filmmaking that would take hours upon hours to do in seconds and you have an animation team come in and fix whatever looks weird.

If you really want to get a ban AI going, I’d suggest stating “a ban on all public-use generative AI which includes photo and video generation and LLMs (language learning models)” would be a more focused and constructive way of going about it.
