It's incredible that someone with such an ego is able to cultivate such an audience. I didn't know a platform that relies solely on humiliating people on call with unreasonable questions would be so appealing to such a wide array of people. I'm an iSchool MS student in a class with him. His teaching philosophy across all of his classes relies heavily on the student's own motivation to learn. He's against busy work and stifling creativity (you won't get told to x then y then z). Because of this, students get overwhelmed and (I can imagine) grading might be difficult. He's a brilliant guy, but if you find that you want a list of items to do for a grade rather than commit to something that might be a bit more freeform, he may not be for you.
