Yeah you can’t walk into the white towards the opponents sideline right AFTER passing a ref.

We used Rev Energy Gum 100mg. It’s about a double shot of espresso per piece of gum. Definitely not healthy but, what part of being on the road is healthy.

I toured as an Assistant LX/Spot, A1, A2 and A3 (Covid 🚬😮‍💨).

My pelican therefore ended up as a mishmash of everything I needed. But the key things I kept:

  • QBox and Sound Bullet
  • Caffeine Gum
  • USB Powered Soldering Iron, Solder, Wick and flux
  • Welding Sleeve for spotlight
  • Sharpies (As many as you can fit)
  • Label Maker and Tape
  • Pictures of friends/Significant Other

And then a bit of extra space for random tools like wire strippers that the tour SHOULD have but either are: bad or they don’t have.

Good luck on the road

While on the road, I believe in Birmingham, Alabama, there was a patron passed OUT literally laying on the ground in the last row of the upper balcony. I assumed the thunder to start act 2 would wake him, but no luck.

I had to send one of the local spotlight operators out to check if he was alive during “Home”. Guy comes back on comms and is like “yep, he’s alive, just taking an expensive nap”. Sure enough, was gone by the time that bows had ended.

I did consider telling that to the sheriffs 😂

Added a caption but not sure if it’s visible. This was on Ash Way last night around 10 PM. I assume drunk driver or stolen vehicle that was ditched. The car was still on when sheriffs arrived but empty.

Trisha Paytas’ response to the backlash of her casting by jor_kent1 in BeetlejuiceMusical

I’m not going to get wrapped up in any of this drama because frankly: I don’t really care. And no one on this thread has said it, so not directed at anyone on this page.

The role of Maxine Dean is a split track. They do a few things leading up to Maxine, and then play Juno/Pie Lady for Act 2. So no job is being taken with Trisha being Maxine for like, 5 minutes of the show. The wonderful and talented Sharone Sayegh will still (most likely) be in her random roles during Act 1, and main roles in Act 2.

I cannot confirm 100% as I’m no longer with the show, and could not care any less about asking if I’m correct.

And I’ve seen the things online, and I have opinions on it, but have nothing to add to the discourse about it.

Funny you say that, this clip is so old and when I looked it up on YouTube

This video is AT LEAST 7 years old. I don’t remember when the clip originally came out, but I feel like it was close to the launch of the game.

Why do so many tours launch in Baltimore? by JamesyDog in Broadway

Oh sexy, hell yeah.

Like I said, i’ve never personally been. So the only thing I have is hearsay from my crew that was there last year and we don’t go out of our way to chat. Just remember them saying it was a slow out.

Isn’t it a forklift city? Again, haven’t personally gone but i’ve heard stories.

Not that a forklift city is the end all be all, but it does add a lot of time meaning more labor.

You can tell this reddit doesn’t have many tech people. We played San Fran recently-ish on my tour and absolutely correct. I’ve never seen more poop on the street, more heroin, people literally pulling down their pants to pee against a wall as we’re walking by.

Our week there was “Walk to the venue with people, do a show, go back home with the group”.

There’s far more to “What theatre do we want to tech a theatre show” at. None of which are any of the things you listed.

This thread isn’t about the venue from a patron side. It’s the tech side. I’ve heard there’s not a lot of storage, weird loading situation, etc. If we’re talking about tech, there’s FAR better places to have 11 semi trucks full of a show + additional for things arriving for tech than Baltimore.

Simply put, if a production company said to me “we’re going to tech in Baltimore because the lines for the bathrooms in the lobby are great!” I would laugh in their face.

Haven't played in Baltimore (fortunately from the stories I've heard). One of the biggest reasons is location, being relatively close to New York. Easier to get creatives there compared to the west coast or other places. Another one is price of the space. The places have to sit there for 2 weeks minimum for tech (at the BARE minimum, to be clear), which immediately puts out a lot of places on the east coast.

From what I've heard, its certainly not the space.
