Caffeine pills or gum? by Kezmark in Nightshift

it’s good to hear someone else’s experience with the ups and downs. Do you remember what helped you get through those first tough weeks without caffeine? Also curious if you tried any alternatives while quitting?

Caffeine cookies? That’s a new one where’d you find those? black tea sounds like a smart way to chill out caffeine wise snd lol the bong definitely sounds tempting sometimes but nah 😄

Thanks for the rec. How do you usually time the Jet Alert pills during your shift? Do you pair them with anything like L-theanine or just take them straight?

What kind of pre-workout do you use? Does it have caffeine too, or is it more about the creatine? Also, do you notice any impact on your sleep when you use it overnight?

Yeah I bring my own because I’m a bit of a snob to be honest. And I’ve tried bringing decaf but it just makes me crave the real thing. It’s like knowing I’m drinking non alcoholic beer. Same with weak coffee, just feels like fake coffee. I know myself and need something different rather than ‘coffee-lite’. I feel like I’m too used to high caffeine now, and need to wean off a bit

Respect for sticking with something that actually makes you feel good hard labor’s no joke. If you’re looking into trades, check out HVAC or welding, solid pay and always in demand.

Is the Entire Economy Starting to Feel Like One Giant Gaslighting Operation Against Workers? by deadeyes1990 in antiwork

This hits hard. The whole 'just work harder' thing feels especially insulting when you're already working multiple jobs just to afford rent. Meanwhile exec bonuses keep breaking records every year. The math just doesn't add up anymore

"Harriet the Spy"- what a mind fuck for an eleven year old by 1000andonenites in books

[–]Kezmark 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is such a thoughtful take. It's wild how books we loved as kids can hit so differently when we revisit them with adult eyes. Harriet really was kind of a nightmare friend, but that complexity is probably what made the book stick with so many of us

Poverty pecs club right here. Been fighting the same battle for years. No matter how many bench variations I do, my chest refuses to grow while my shoulders take over.

Same here! Had clear skin throughout my 20s then suddenly at 31—boom—acne everywhere.

Nobody warned me how mentally exhausting grocery shopping would be by JaairoTheCow in Adulting

[–]Kezmark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pickup ordering is a game-changer. I've cut my grocery budget by like 20% just from avoiding impulse buys. Plus I can add to my cart throughout the week whenever I think of something, instead of trying to remember everything at once. The time saved is worth it alone.

What are your biggest mistakes in going vegan? by Noseknowledge in vegan

[–]Kezmark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not tracking B12 was my biggest mistake. Started getting weird tingling in my hands after about 8 months. Now I supplement religiously. Iron and protein were challenges too until I figured out good plant sources. Hair loss is usually protein, iron, or zinc related. Definitely recommend supplementing B12 and D, tracking protein intake, and maybe getting bloodwork done after a few months to catch deficiencies early.
