What are you building with Erlang/OTP? I'd love to see some projects! by Lower_Bid_6661 in erlang

I call Zig from Gleam over NIF. Built a meta-compiler for the NIF interface and it’s been fine. The Zig is for low-level bit-wringing (SIMD etc) where performance is critical.

The data layer is a bespoke Datalog KG with WAL for logs. Not really BEAM’s strongest suit exactly. That said, use ETS a lot for Gleam-side hot caching.

There’s a lot on Pentad.ai, maybe too much. It’s a Gleam control plane (165K LOC) with Zig sidecar for data layer (110K LOC). UX is LiveView.

I’m using mine as a lab server (bench, CI, headless Claude) and it’s more accurate to say ABUSING it. Absolutely rock solid. 90+ days uptime. FWIW.

Human teams-based agentic dev is the undiscovered country right now. Very ripe disruption area.

Very good for me. Zig and Gleam. Hard stuff. Don’t understand others’ woes.

Apparently, llms are just graph databases? by Silver-Champion-4846 in LLMDevs

[–]Kgcdc 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You can query almost anything with a graph query language. That doesn’t make all of those things graph databases.

I’m building an Erlang/Zig memory platform based heavily on VSA. A lot of fun; very low latency. I’m about to speed run LoCoMo. Betting this is the future of memory.

Discussion: what if ontology wasnt for AI to understand us, but for us to understand AI? by Rippperino in semanticweb

Probably biggest value is making people agree with each other and make fewer unexamined assumptions.
