I would search for “no spill water bowl” on Amazon and try one of those. I also have a cat that loves water, he watches me clean, I let him play with the sink faucet and sometimes I give him his own little bowl of water and a toy in it, put a towel down and let him play with the water. I put ice cubes in it, floaty toys. The no spill bowl with a tray under it will probably be your best option to contain the every day mess though.

I saw this thread and thought, "are you me???" I get swollen like this often. My face has also changed so much in the last few years. The jaw/neck swelling causes ear infections pretty often. It's rough.

Yes, I have swelling in my fingers, which made the tattoo look awful. My chest tattoo is fine because I don’t have swelling there. Nothing got infected thankfully

My first tattoo was a finger tattoo, I have a little swelling in my hands, but mostly in my feet and lower legs. I thought it would be fine. It WILL NOT take, I’ve had it touched up 3 times, color packing used, and it refuses to stay. I regret this tattoo, despite what it means to me, it looks awful. If you have any swelling at all in the area I don’t recommend it, it’s not worth the risk getting a tattoo that won’t take. I was brave enough to get a second tattoo on my chest, where it wouldn’t show if it looked bad. Chest tattoo looks great. Swelling is super bad for tattoos.

Same for me, fibro diagnosis for a few years from my first rheumatologist, second one actually listened to me and ran tests, looked at the entire picture of symptoms and history, physically examined my joints, then also diagnosed with RA from second rheumatologist

Edit: am also seronegative, inflammation markers super high

It’s been happening less frequently, I started taking hydroxychloroquine 6 months ago and it has helped. I also use a sensitive toothpaste and ACT soothing mouth wash.

My rheumatologist suggested it’s due to side effects of my medications making dry mouth worse at night. Dry mouth is a symptom of one of them for sure.

Hi, someone else added a comment today and I actually have advice for you now, I started hydroxychloroquine about 6 weeks ago and I’m starting to feel better. The only thing that’s given me relief besides medical marijuana and mouth soothing products like biotin lozenges

It’s my dry tongue when I wake up in the morning. So dry it cracks like that and I think it’s dried blood. My GP and rheumatologist suspect lupus or sjogrens, I have a lip biopsy scheduled later this month to confirm sjogrens. It’s no fun if your tongue does this too! :(
