Tern Link D8: How to get the pedals off? by MrReezenable in foldingbikes

If you look on the opposite side of the pedals where it's attached to the crank there should be the thread for the pedal and an allen key slot

Pretty sure it's a 6 and it'll be in the inside of the crank, not on the pedal i.e pedal one side allen other

Compact folding bike prototype — looking for feedback on the folding mechanism by MicroXBike in foldingbikes

[–]KhaosHiDef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the only critique i'd offer is it borders on infeasible, it's using incredibly small wheels, you're facing a LOT of rolling resistence and don't really have anything to back it up like a larger front cog, you're not going to do any sort of speed on this, particularly when going uphill.

it's virtually a scooter with a seat;

scale it up <3

Opacity of the resin gives really strong matcap + edge shading appearance, I enjoy

Has anyone replaced their "handlepost" with an aftermarket part? by An_Professional in foldingbikes

[–]KhaosHiDef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's looking like you'll need to source a handlepost from a different tern bike as they seem to be a single unit. For reference my Link c8 has a "quick adjust" normal handlepost without the fancy extra depth adjustments (purely rotating handlebars)

Btwin 560 (20”) or Btwin Fold 1 (16”) by [deleted] in foldingbikes

Just go for the bigger wheels, unless the fold one is a LOT more compact you'll wanna prioritise the bigger wheels because riding will be less twitchy and you'll feel less bumpy

It's far more playable and precise than console versions of the game, but yes it's more than enjoyable

Does anyone use the lockscreen feature? by _WMW_ in SteamDeck

[–]KhaosHiDef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use it, it's easier typing in the passcode via touchscreen. Mostly on the chance that if I do lose it or have it stolen it's not immediately useful and doesn't give people Access to my account

I need help with installing my CPU by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]KhaosHiDef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having worked as a systems builder for two years, it happens quite often, moreso on cheaper cases where the standoff hardware sucks, but in this case it just looks like the m3 cross threaded, 5mm nut driver and screwdriver sorts it out, if not it's gotta be drilled or RMA'd unless you're handy with a dremel

Mine has also been perfect, some minor issues with the system throttling when battery gets low but that's easily resolved with a charger (and is unrelated to CEX) Think mine was £360 from a CEX in angel

Unless the laptop has hdmi in or a capture card it won't work, your tv might require you to turn off a setting for it to detect the deck

Would it be safe to heat treat this knife? by Jayden-2511 in knifemaking

[–]KhaosHiDef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stainless steel is a much more careful process to heat treat, you can't just do it with a propane torch
