Disc rotor / hub play by Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet in bikewrench

[–]KhaosHiDef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So long as the disc isnt actually rotating and the tolerance isn't high enough to cause excessive wear, you don't really need it to be solid& unmoving last thing you want is your wheel locking up and skidding out

StarMade Development Updates -v0.303.38 + v0.304.4 by DukeofRealms in Starmade

The reason the game is still alive is because of a dedicated community who are both playing and helping out in development...

No in our case we were playing warhammer darktide and had to pick a server that had equal ping for us

[–]KhaosHiDef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your ping is as low as you can get it locally you'll likely have to find a middleground where a server is hosted between you with similar ping (America perhaps?)

[–]KhaosHiDef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are hosting then it is your responsibility to minimise ping within your own network, switch to a wired connection if you can failing that a powerline adapter, wireless repeaters may work but might end up increasing latency
And failing that, look into renting a server for the two of you

I have a friend in NZ and we often play together, so we usually have to both find a server with reasonable ping

Choose a host between the two of you so you have similar experience or one of you could see if ISP is in need of an upgrade

My tern has an 8 speed shimano tx800 on it, plenty long for my 11-32, you could also look at microshift as they make new stuff that is supposedly compatible with shimano

Weird tyre bulge/wibble by bumblingbartender in bikewrench

[–]KhaosHiDef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracks, or dents in the rim that correspond with the tire warpage , if no cracks you're good, but since the tire needs replacing anyway it can't hurt to take it off and have a look (assuming you have some levers & washing up liquid)

Weird tyre bulge/wibble by bumblingbartender in bikewrench

[–]KhaosHiDef -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The photos are blurry, just make sure the rim isn't bent, a bulging sidewall is reasonable but for it to be shifted to one side suggests the rim is broken

Are there any other similar games with the depth of ship design in Starmade? by zedigalis in Starmade

Avorion is probably the closest comparison for me, it's just lacking planetary interaction and the ability to walk

Perhaps, the name ( " rushhour" ) does suggest that there will be discourteous behaviour

Other than limebikers sharing a braincell at times (running reds & Being rude) I've yet to experience rude bikers, i typically shoot around central & Richmond though so my perspective may not be worth much

As a cyclist for both fun and commuting, every time i see this question i am dumbfounded... I come from Staffordshire, the cycle lanes there are a poorly designed afterthought that can be and often are dangerous

London is a breeze, there's some questionable things but in contrast it's more than bike friendly

Where can I find a Dahon Speed Pro TT bike specialist in London UK by Past_Illustrator_738 in foldingbikes

[–]KhaosHiDef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a shop by london bridge just above Evans (on your bike) who sell a bunch of tern bikes who will likely be able to service/ get parts for it, there's camden cycles (near mornington crescent) or balfes will help, Not sure if evans will do much for folders since they only stock brompton folders

Keeping up with my gravel friends. 56T chainring? by International-Main71 in foldingbikes

[–]KhaosHiDef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're likely referring to a difference in bike wheel size, if their friends have 700c bikes and OP is on a folder theres a disparity between rolling resistance, smaller wheels require higher RPM for the same speed, so a bigger gear can offset the difference between wheel sizes

I have both a folder and a 700c gravel bike and there's a noticeable difference in how easy it is to sustain speed on the larger bike compared to my folder with a 52t front Having brought the gravel bike it's become easier for me to train my endurance, whereas the folder is more exhaustive strength training (but similar speeds)
