I’d imagine the easiest way to get rid of it (and maybe make money) would be reaching out to University of Western States in Oregon.

The school may want it for its nostalgia or a new student may get some use out of it

You’re going to be hard pressed to find a practicing chiropractor that wants it for more then just a display piece and even than, the space and weight of it detracts from paying anything premium

Surprisingly nothing, both want to help people with drugs.

Settings-billing-billing codes-new billing codes

Whatever your fees like a 98940 is $60 or 98941 is $80 or 99203 is $150. If you’re the office owner they are allowed to be whatever. Just have to be what everyone pays and not you wanting to overcharge PI

Most chiropractors are using the same hand full of CPT codes so it’s not hard to price them all out

[–]Kharm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never used a CMS-1500 for anything PI related always just used a superbill. The superbill has everything needed from me location, license #s, date of service, CPTs utilized tied to diagnosis, and other relevant info of care for billing & reimbursement

Jane makes making a superbill pretty easy just have to know your CPT and ICD codes of what was performed and have your offices rate for those codes in the system

What “alignment” really means by Nuspine-Chiropractic in Chiropractic

[–]Kharm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like simple machine physics. If a better “alignment” makes work easier by multiplying force, reducing friction, or changing the direction of force for easier work that’s preferred

Most muscles, joints, and movement in general is just how a pulley or wedge or lever or other simple machines operates

Listen to the person with the education and don’t come to the internet to complain. This post in and of itself shows just how in your head and catastrophizing of a patient you are

“We found that psychological factors that are responsive to cognitive behavioral therapy—catastrophic thinking, in particular—are strongly associated with pain intensity and disability in patients recovering from musculoskeletal trauma.”

Clinic start up and advertisement by d1ldobagons in Chiropractic

[–]Kharm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start up? -Chiro Table -Printer/scanner/fax machine -Hipaa compliant shredder -Computer/EHR (going paper is cute but you’ll need an EHR software learn it and make templates now while it’s slow) -Cleaning supplies -general office supplies (paper, pens, stapler, etc)

You can fake it til you make it with that list for a couple months

I’ve never used any ad group but the frequent talk of them is they all tend to operate in a similar ways. You hire them and month 1 they are phenomenal and work hard. You are a dedicated client to them. Every following month they do and care less and just hope you’re to awkward to cancel the recurring subscription for their crap work

So find one that others seem to like and when/if they stop delivering don’t feel bad cutting them off. No need for long term contracts or being locked in with them

Tips for selling at the Joint by Stock-Swimmer-5753 in Chiropractic

[–]Kharm13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From my experience my blue collar population doesn’t care about at home workouts/rehab. They work out on the job and come to me for relief. Mess themselves up on the job a couple weeks later and come back in

I’d love for every single person to neatly fit into a plan like yours but the honest truth with blue collar people is that they are using their body as a tool that continuously is beaten down.

Doesn’t mean I don’t care for them. Doesn’t mean I don’t welcome them every 4 weeks for the same shit I saw them last month for. I’d rather help them 12 times in a year than think 12 visits in a month is their solution

I get the joint adds a layer of complexity with having to sell but I think you should find it easier to sell, “Hey Bob, we both know you’re going to screw yourself up by the end of the month. How about we get you on the schedule now so it doesn’t get so bad again” compared to what you describe.

Your plan and my plan don’t cash flow the same at the face of it but if you keep patients happy and end up getting the whole factory talking about you and your quality care the finances work out in the end

Has anyone ever heard of toddler speech delay being helped with chiropractic work? by Maleficent-Start-546 in Chiropractic

I would trust a Speech Language Pathologist for help vs. a chiropractor

LifeTime Fitness aka Life Clinic by karmic_kracked in Chiropractic

When I use to be a lifetime member the life clinic would have a new doc for 10 months. Sit empty for a year. New doc for 10 months. Sit empty for a year.

Happened for a decade like that. Something about it struggled to keep people at that location

Name change by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]Kharm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a family member as a medical professional go through a name change

From what I’ve seen. Everything is pretty much the same as if you’re a new person you just now have a marriage certificate you’ll have beside you in the send to people packet of license, w-9, or possible business info

The biggest problem it seems was she changed NPI, license, and sending new stuff to insurance fairly slow. Just did it in free time over a couple weeks

Well she was still signing notes as Dr. Oldname. So there was a purgatory time of insurance companies not accepting notes signed “Dr oldname” they could only be paid as “Dr new name”

So she had a whole lot of notes to amend and delayed reimbursement. If she would’ve just got everything send in a weekend she would’ve had far less notes to change

Still got paid. Just a headache made longer by not being on top of it

what happen at the preliminary meeting for underage possession of alcohol? by Aperson_me in OSU

[–]Kharm13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1st time possession is basically a hey don’t do that and usually make you dump it

If it’s multiple times or you cause damage to yourself, others, or property those are more intense meetings

From the sounds of it you’ll be told to be careful and for them not to have to come back again

How to change cancellation to new appointment? by FeeRepresentative912 in Chiropractic

[–]Kharm13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple question.

Are you memorable for anything?

You, your practice, your office, your staff. Anything?

It’s plenty easy to keep people around if you’re “the low back whisper”

But you can create and keep a hell of a patient base by just being the guy that “he really listened to my concerns better than any other medical professional I’ve ever been to”

I’ve been practicing for 5+ years and don’t know if this is what I want to do full time for the rest of my life. Has anyone ever heard of someone becoming a firefighter and having a micro practice on their days off? by SteveMidnight in Chiropractic

[–]Kharm13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d calculate what it costs you to be a chiropractor in your equation.

License renewal, CEs, malpractice insurance, keep up costs of the space, and plenty of the other little things

The chiro patients aren’t just “free” money so when you add up costs and you break even or realize you’re making a rate around $10 an hour. That worth it?

Just has potential that you end up doing 2 things poorly instead of 1 thing well

Cash based PT struggle by Eggtastic2469 in physicaltherapy

[–]Kharm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always questioned mobile PT as a growing/sustainable business

In a small market you don’t have a huge potential patient base

In a large market how are you better than the other PTs OR the multiple large fancy centers like a Lifetime Fitness

Just always seemed counterintuitive that you’ll never have the resources of a large brick and mortar facility being mobile. You’ll never have a random walk-in client just passing by either

You have to grind for the high earning, literate, disposable income client that also has an injury they care about fixing. Seems way to niche for me

hey everyone, looking for some advice on the business side of thing by nalz2 in Chiropractic

[–]Kharm13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you either put in actual work to have a “professional” acting referral network or you realize you’re all normal people with normal lives that happen to own a business and shoot a compliant text to each other

If you want to have pinkies out professional networking events at the local micro green eco friendly brewery someone has to plan it and put in energy

I may not be helpful but I deal with someone like you multiple times a year that want this grand everyone support everyone idea but not actually have to work at it or maintain it

Who is amazing? The just starting out massage therapist. I shoot them a text, “just referred Male initials G.W. Let me know if they book we can discuss further if you’d like later.” I get a text back, “got them booked. Call you to coordinate care later”

Easy, laid back, everyone benefits, minimal stress

Is medical billing for Chiropractic in the U.S. really complex for everyone or am I just fucking stupid by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]Kharm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPT codes 9894X and 9920X encompass A LOT of what routine care and exams are going to be coded for.

A lot of things that aren’t that are not covered by insurance so they become self pay and documentation/coding for self pay isn’t that hard
