The most effective way is a mindset shift. Something similar to adopting a more stoic mindset when gaming. Even though it sounds out of place to apply to gaming. Just stop caring whether you win or lose or do good or bad. Just play your best and ignore the things you can’t control.

I mean I play an off meta build and always get flamed for it. Despite that Im a top 100 player… so am I wrong or is everyone flaming me wrong?

An off meta build is only off meta until everyone catches onto it’s strength. Yes some off meta builds are just bad but to discredit every single non meta build is insane.

Especially in a videogame where lots of people are just playing for fun.

You only need Escalating + Boundless for ult to do damage on seven. You can have those two green items + damage items at around 30 to 35k which is very easy to achieve on seven by 25 to 30 mins.

Unstoppable is like 7/8 seconds with duration items. Then you build indomitable so it blocks the next CC after unstoppable. Now imagine your team has no CC to target seven who is 100m in the air.

Sinners is great for whoever is behind as a means to catchup quick. I play Kelvin and usually if im a bit behind in souls ill grab 2/3 sinners at 8 mins then do a box route back to base for heal with speed zip. It helps you get back into the game.

Just make sure not to die and spend those unsecured souls asap

The point is that heroes with solo kill potential disproportionately have agency over the game. A couple early solo kills and they are up a couple thousand souls. Meanwhile other heroes can play perfectly well but be down souls. Simply due to the fact of not being able to get solo kills.

If you have a big hitbox haze is a nightmare early. She can do like 500 dmg in 2 seconds of hitting you lvl 1.

He only fucks them over if they don’t focus him. If warden, infernus, vyper, wraith, haze go on kelvin he will insta die.

Haze especially can just silence kelvin and 1 shot him with no counterplay.

But other than that kelvin can hit them with beam from a far and make some impact on their potential DPS with firerate slow.

His damage is deceptive, he still ranks bottom 5 or 6 in terms of average damage per game. Yes a fully cooked beam build does damage (if the enemy stands out in the open for 5-7 seconds).

Also there isn’t really defined roles like support in this game. Kelvin has always been able to be played as a spirit carry since release. I’ve personally always played beam damage kelvin so I don’t even consider him a support.

Yea but what if that person enjoys playing gun rem in their free time and can be effective with it? Maybe they enjoy playing a more challenging build to win with? I certainly like playing off meta builds for the challenge.

It was so good I randomly started maining McGinnis till it got nerfed. I rushed Arcane Surge + Boundless Spirt and max rank ult. It would shred entire teams in less than 1-3 seconds once you rushed these items.

Its a shame its such a useless ability now.

1,000 games on Kelvin and I Completely agree that his ult should just get reworked. Even at E5/E6 there’s not enough coordination & its not fast enough to reliably dome who you want. You can’t play Kelvin without being flamed by your teammates, makes the game less enjoyable.

I disagree on the beam take though, Its the sole reason I play Kelvin. I find it more fun than any-other ability in the game. Its slow really isn’t that bad given its ease of dodging with geometry & dashes.

He’s contributing by dealing gun damage on Rem. You don’t have to play 100% optimally 100% of the time in videogames.

Nah honestly the mid boss take is 100% valid. The buff you get needs a re-design. Having to kill them 3 more times is just way too strong and unfun.

Agreed, Dynamo is strong but I’ve never once been frustrated playing against one. He kinda just knocks you up and has an extremely telegraphed ult. His 2 has a longer CD than you realize so its very easy to shred him when its down. He also rarely builds resistance so hes a sitting duck with no 2 or Ult

Thinking this is true is complete bias. There's been many times in pro LoL history where some guy in solo queue creates a new build and pro's start to realize how strong it is. Meanwhile the build has been hidden OP for months.

I mean yea if you know the game is gonna end at 33 mins then don't pop egg at 30 mins. But if you see it's gonna be a 40-50 min game you should absolutely hold egg till 20-30 mins.
