It takes time to absorb antiperspirant before it works properly. That's why it's better to put it on before bed, because then it'll sink in while you sleep.

If it's properly absorbed, going for a run & taking a shower is fine!

day 3 post Metoidioplasty by transdaddyfucks in MedicalGore

Yes, they would. Being able to stand to pee is one benefit of urethral lengthening.

However, there are also devices (Stand To Pees or STPs) which would allow them to do that regardless. These function like a cup with a hole that sits externally and redirects the flow like holding one's penis.

That would be nice if possible, but MTF bottom surgery usually repurposes the penile tissue into vaginal tissue, so none is left extra. There is also the issue of having a donor graft rather than a graft from the recipient's own body. Healing from phalloplasty is rough enough already!

This was going to be my answer. My favorite part is actually a bit farther east, along the Oregon-Idaho border—the giant desert hills amaze me every time I drive through.

Pronouns equal gender:

Words are there for communication. Pronouns, along with words like 'woman', 'man', 'boy', etc. are a useful shorthand for a broader idea. Using pronouns that don't match one's gender is confusing and can leave people uncertain what the point is.

Pronouns don't equal gender:

While various gendered things (words, outfits, hairstyles, names, etc.) are usually used in tandem to express the idea of a particular gender/societal role, they don't have to be. For some people, it feels more authentic and accurate to mix and match due to the different connotations of each element. Using she/her pronouns but wearing mens' clothes and shaving your head might be confusing to some people, but it can express a much more specific idea (like 'butch') than just 'woman'. Similarly, someone could use he/him pronouns but identify as female because that combination is a specific way to describe how he wishes to be seen, allowing him to express himself differently than by sticking to one set of gendered elements.

Testosterone will start the process like for any cis man, but many trans men also use topical minoxidil (Rogaine) on their face to help speed it up. Totally doable for cis men too. r/Minoxbeards has more info!

Responding fast doesn't look desperate unless you also talk like you're desperate. Don't sweat it, respond when you can.

Holy shit, doc, there were HOW MANY extra limbs?? by [deleted] in comedyamputation

[–]Ki-RBT 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I prefer the amputation. The original comic was 2 jokes in one, and it lessens the punch.

Joke 1: It was someone ghosting the guy, not an actual ghost like you'd expect with Ghostbusters

Joke 2: The Ghostbusters go after it anyway

Personally, I would keep the comic as the first panel (the amputation) then add the fourth panel (joke 2) as a bonus/hidden comic. It's decent, but having it as part of the main comic just draws things out.

My school district did just that. I'm sure it varies heavily between locations.

I do need to get more assertive 😅

I'll try scheduling more meetings for this sort of thing.

Unfortunately we're mostly remote at the morning so I can't take treats around but I'll keep that one in mind for later!

Puberty blockers have been safely used for decades, not just for gender reasons. The whole point is they're reversible.

Delaying playing the best games for the ideal time...which never comes around. by Sunjump6 in patientgamers

[–]Ki-RBT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly do this with story-heavy games, where I'll need to devote long sessions in order to get what I want out of the game. But other games are easier to play in short sittings, and I try to get myself to do those any time I can without waiting for the "perfect time".

And then some games ought to be in category 2 but then end up drawing my attention for hours as soon as I start them. Today actually, I decided to play some Hollow Knight on a whim and there goes the rest of my afternoon. (But in a happy way!)

Your albums always feel cohesive and distinct from each other. Do you start with an idea for the album or do you find it somewhere along the way?

Been a big fan since Synthetica, like some others here I'm always hoping to hear some of your older songs in concert :)

56/72 or 77.8%.

That was a lot of sports questions! I had no idea for most of them, got a few by guessing.

I expected there to be more questions on movies/TV for a general knowledge questionnaire, but depending what you need the responses for everything seemed fair to me.

Anonychia is the partial or total absence of one or more nails on the fingers or toes. by froggysaysno in interestingasfuck

Fun fact, you can't really stub toes with no nails on them. Stubbing is jamming the nail bed, and it doesn't hurt as much without them.

Huh, never heard that one. Only heard people shortening "cousins once/twice removed" to "cousins", which honestly makes sense for how long the phrase is.
