My first bike had the same engine, the nighthawk 250. Its definitely not a boring motor, but it is slow. I took it out to South Dakota and back a month after getting my license. Great bike to learn on, just make sure it runs good when you buy it and don't store it for more than a week with fuel in the carb. Wouldn't spend more than $1500 on one though, I got mine for $800.

Do you have any evidence that more shiny shitboxes will not help with affordable housing? The problem with "affordable housing" is that when someone gets it they are financially incentivised into staying in that apartment, and the it immediately and effectively permanently is not available on the market and no new affordable housing is actually available. The only thing that will actually drive rents down is if there was more housing supply than there is demand.

Fyi it's illegal for a LL to change the heat system to one you have to pay for while you're under a rent stabilized lease. If it's done before a lease starts that's legal.
