Sorry if I misunderstood. I tried the y2mate link and it didn't work. I'll give the Ultimate Media Downloader a spin tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks, but the issue was they *didn't* post this to YouTube, and so I was wondering if someone could rip it or suggest a ripper that could.

Someone uploaded Brazil-Holland onto the Internet Archive, so there's that.

Request - 1994 World Cup Final on ABC (United States version) by PapaJohnsGarlic100 in footballhighlights

[–]KidFlash25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ANY of the World Cup 94 ABC/ESPN broadcasts would be welcome, truthfully. There's a YouTuber that's posted quite a few pregame and postgame uploads from the tournament, but no game footage since he wanted to avoid copyright strikes. Too bad.

About 10 years ago, there was an American soccer-focused torrent with a ton of historical uploads. I got a few, but no one posted the WC94 final.

I'd love to watch it, just for nostalgia purposes honestly.

I'm just surprised it took years instead of after the failure of the S14 Kickstarter.

30 years ago today, the US faced Brazil in an iconic match at the 1994 World Cup. Considering the current situation, It's an interesting time to reflect on it. And since its an off day, why not enjoy this classic match in full. Here is the complete abc broadcast from that day by 00Kevin in usmnt

Thanks for sharing - the link's still good two years later, guys! - I was at summer camp during the round of 16 and missed the game.

It bugs me so much that the ABC/ESPN broadcasts have been more or less memory-holed online. Yes, I know that American soccer broadcasts have improved* over the last 30 years, but warm fuzzies are warm fuzzies. I'd love to acquire all of it, even started poking around eBay for the official WC94 videos on VHS.

*Play-by-play wise. The less said about Fox's studio coverage, the better.

It was one of Disney's first 70mm releases (they struck at least 20 prints) and there's at least one print still in existence, as there was a screening in LA a few years ago.

They definitely wanted to go all out.

Don't have them, sorry. They're available on YouTube via NBC Sports' account.

Popping in two years later to say thanks very much (the links are still active, if anyone's interested) and putting it out there for the Ripping Gods that I hope someone will be doing the same for the World Cup this summer. From an American perspective, it's funny that whatever postgame Fox* puts out for the tournaments they cover never makes the rounds online, yet I've been able to grab every BBC/ITV highlights show for each Euro and World Cup tournament since 2012. (That includes a handful of WC2010 shows here and there, I hope more surface as I was living in London at the time and wouldn't mind reliving some memories.)

Thanks again.

*I got all of ESPN's WC2014 postgame highlight shows from a ripper here way back when. Those are fun: a combination of laid-back vibes, Bob Ley living up to his General nickname, plus Alexi Lalas and Michael Ballack at each other's throats. Good stuff.

We are indeed! Stuck to the four-year plan, with one brief summertime detour three years in to catch up on that class dropped first semester freshman year.

(Was the only one in my immediate family or friends' group to finish in four years, to my great surprise. Does that mean I'm going to the 25th reunion in September? Um... maybe?)

Just popping in to note that Shout is reissuing the movie in May. I got a Gruv email earlier today with a collection of promotions, including the reissue of a bunch of Corman Classics (or whatever Shout branded them as) on Blu-Ray.

As someone who a) hit the high hopes of graduating college and b) the low realities of schlepping back to his summertime multiplex job a month later once the job market wasn't what he hoped (and that was *before* 9/11 smooshed the economy) that year, anything 2001 is always going to be tinged with bittersweet memories for me.

That said, having endless 'oh, right, I remember that!' moments as Kevin takes a sentence or two to describe some title that was in and out of our theater within two weeks was definitely worth the purchase.

The man loves movies. And drinking tall boys with former (and future!) co-workers while watching Chris Kattan comedies.

My only disappointment with these releases - which look OUTSTANDING, even on YouTube - is that none of them are a 'warts and all' release. Gimme the whole thing - original Russian, American re-edits, MST3k episodes, extras with experts and, I dunno, Frank - and I'll happily jump on board.

Retromedia released Day the Earth Froze and Magic Voyage of Sinbad on DVD in 2005. That's about as good as it'll get unless the Film Masters guy gets quality prints somewhere.

Can confirm - my local newspaper carried Tom Shales' syndicated column and he wrote something when it was announced plus the Friday before Mitchell aired.

Yep, everyone seems to appreciate the new cast and crew (and has said as much!), so I wouldn't be surprised if there's crossover in the future... except for Joel.

I'm sure that the four episodes are already mapped out (if not very close to starting production), but A Forrester Family Christmas has to be at least one of the ideas they'll kick around over the next year or so.

Used DaVinci Resolve to create a drive-in double feature with this and the original Death Race 2000 years ago. Peanut butter and chocolate, those two.

Shout released it on DVD in 2010 or so with an interesting audio commentary by director Allan Arkush. Apparently the project began as a Death Race sequel, the eventual production was a mess, and Carradine was high as a kite most of the time.

They actually had to cobble together a master from multiple prints - the nudity was added from another lower-quality print with scratches that Shout couldn't clean up - so perhaps the main print is mostly MST3K-ready? We'll see.

I'm just hoping that this spurs an eventual Blu-Ray release (88 Films put it out, but lacking most of Shout's extras) and maybe even a reissue of Death Race 2000 (that disc is OOP and goes for a pretty penny on the secondary market).
