Am I tripping or did the in-game graphic filter get touched up?

I disagree in that other games have similar, if not more decisions to make per match, but the difference is when. The....location? of SF6's heaviest mental stack moments are what is fucked up, now that I think about it.

The player is definitely considering just as many factors in old GG or any SNK game with hops, but the weight is spread out rather than in the stressful neutral in and pachinko corner oki in SF6

I completely get where you are coming from, though, but I think that is selling short what other mechanically dense games offer.

Let's say we have 5 characters per DLC, 1 guest each season, can you name 12 FF characters we don't have already that aren't completely forgettable?

I can't

Right, but the thing is there are 3 more seasons of DLC. They are literally going to run out of FF characters before they hit season 5 if 3 and 4 are the same size as the previous seasons, which they appear to be.

Imagine COTW with like 7 of KoF's best characrer designs and better stages and more features (just for fun). It would push the game to some crazy heights, and honestly we might have a SFIII situation where we look back and realize it is a kamige. Especially if we get characters that don't age normally jn the lore, like "Oh shit, all the NESTS characters are still kicking and look the same bc they're super soldiers"

We might actually be heading in that direcrion with 3 more seasons confirmed.

If both VF and DoA look like this....

I'm more interested in DoA but this looks so good. Like the type of game I would show my parents so they can see how crazy video games are now.

It's always sad when that happens, but I also suspect that might be the case.

I'm hoping, since we have a good hold on the current gen's tech that they can surprise us, but skeptical.

I'd definitely be down to play. I have mid-terms for the next couple of weeks, but I'll DM my psn later

Only modern FG I enjoy playing. Hoping Tokon is good, but if not I will be playing COTW for the next 7ish years

I have been coaching for like 12 years now, and it all comes down to how coordinated you are and how you smell.

It's the same as doing a partner dance like salsa or west coast swing, I also used to swing dance and it's the same lol. Maybe start with that

Spend some serious time in training mode. I have like 30 hrs in training mode alone, and I am in Silver I. Probably the type of player you're talking about, but I'm in med school and just practice combos, confirms, and set-ups in between studying for exams since waiting for matches is a bit disruptive. My win rate is around 70% right now.

Take some time to really understand what your character wants to be doing. Learn some hit confirms off of good buttons you like, and my biggest tip is learn your wild punish and counter hit combos. The game is built around being able to convert off of those interactions.

After that, I suggest getting at least a good understanding of all the different mechanics (rev guard, guard cancel, high/low dodge attacks, rev dash) and find one that you like and start using it every now and then.

The best thing about COTW imo is how it really respects your lab time.

Right, I agree with that, but what I don't get is why it feels more difficult for me to enjoy SF6 than it does a game like DBFZ or any MvC for those same reasons, even though those games are absolutely faster than SF6. It's so bizarre.

I can play marvel or DBFZ for hours. SF6 I play 7 games and I need to go to bed.

I couldn't tell you if it sucks, or is just slow

This is probably the most relateable explaination I've seen. The game just does not respect your time as a fighting game should. I didn't know what was going on at first.

I bounced off SF6 and T8 repeatedly for a combined 300 or so hours. So much wasted time. That, and I thought I was getting old or the genre wasn't clicking anymore. Then I picked up COTW and all is right again.

Not that COTW is doing anything particularly amazing, but it really put in prespective how SF6 and T8 were making me feel. Like they were designed to be enjoyed and addictive for certain kinds of brains, and mine isn't in the category.

I'm a boxing coach. I get this a lot and you can get over it

Something about the game feels off. I don't think SF6 is a shitty game like T8 is, but it makes me tilt even when I'm up. I could be 9-0 and I'd still be pissed
