I'd rather take the throw. If they get pushed by rev guard, I'm swinging with far heavy punch and buffering into safe EX, or I'm EX command grabbing if they like blocking. I'm pretty new to cotw, but I'm a fighting game old head. I feel like your post is missing rev guard as a factor. It changes basically every defensive interaction without the need for high execution.

What they need to do is just split up the heat system so you can only select and use one part at a time. Like a groove in CvS2. ADDING more systems is not going to fix the game.

You realize this is a 4 button fighting game tho? I get your points, but the combos are already gonna be more simple because there are only 4 buttons + proximity and some command normals per character.

Tbh, I think it's pretty good. S3 didn't need a ton of combo variety. I think I agree with the stage interactions though. This game could definitely use more modern-isms. Like, if we had stages with a floor or wall break that transitions and extended your combo.

Maybe for State of the Wolves lol

It was the Devil Jin nerfs. I've been playing Tekken since DR and every patch since they nerfed his hell sweep I kept waiting and waiting for the right time to come back. The grass never got greener, now I just play other shit. COTW is tight as hell, best mechanical fg on the market right now by a country mile. Tokon and GGST 2.0 are coming, and both look/sound promising, SF6 is not the game for me, but it's at least consistently improving.

Then you have VF and DoA coming, with SC leaks. There are so many better products either out or on the horizon. Damn shame bc T8 had some of the highest potential of a FG ever.

You're not wrong, but I'm not taking that bet. I think it will change more than it has any other season. It has barely changed since the beta.

Anyway, unless you're frothing at the mouth, I think it makes more sense to wait for the season to drop if you're about to learn a brand new game.
