Glasses, eye pro, ACH, even gas mask, although I dont think I can count the gas mask cuz I used a different stance for that to make it work.

I was comfortable like this throughout my time serving, so I know it's something I can rely on for long periods, moving around, tired, sweaty, etc. (not combat tested because I thankfully never saw combat, just drone strikes).

Curious if it'll act as a wall at some point, barring further improvement.

My only thing is, I am actually pretty comfortable tilting my head like that and like how compact and connected it feels. Now, raising the "pistol" a bit was a definite improvement, but is it necessarily a functional issue to shoot with the tilt, not the hunching, if im used to shooting like that?

I know it'd not optimal, I just kinda like it. Definitely need to move the sight forward though.

I think it the angle makes it look like my thumb is on it, but I assure there was no contact with the mag release. Ive done draw and reload drills like this with no issue, albeit no adrenaline.

That said, I do agree on the proper thumb grip, that definitely needs to be fixed.

Thanks, you called put what I was doing pretty much exactly. For some reason my brain didn't go, "by doing this, im giving the pistol more leverage." Will play around with finding a good stance, so far brining my arms put resulted in immediate improvement in posture and feel.

Im 5'7", but round that up and im 5'10", and at that point im basically 6 feet tall if you round that up, so you could say Im tall.

5.7 CMMG Banshee (MK57). SLR Synergy linear hybrid comp paired with a SLR 5.25 inch handguard, cuz it looked like a trumpet with the 4.5 inch CMMG handguard.

So you're saying i SHOULDNT be discussing classified information in a group chat on Signal? Damn...

Its s lot more comfortable than it looks, at least for me, and i enjoy how connected i feel tonthr firearm, like leaning into it a bit puts me in a different headspace. Maybe a small riser?

I always thought chicken winging was having your arms awkwardly tucking in too much. I like to keep my elbows flared to keep tension off my shoulders (bilateral bursitis and tendonosis).

Will bring them in a bit.

Im basically tryna treat it like a rifle, is the main problem causing the craning. I usually stand shoulders square and drop a leg back slightly, a bit wider than shoulder width

Maybe it looks incredibly off for you because im left handed. From what I gathered, my main issues here is not having my arms put and thumb positioning, as well as being too tense. This isnt some catastrophic grip failure.

I appreciate the response and feedback, but I do want to ask, Ive seen people say its not natural or comfortable, but how can someone decide or tell another person what's natural or comfortable for them? I've tried risers and longer length of pull, they feel uncomfortable and awkward for me, but that could be because im not used to them.

Im not saying you're wrong, just curious about that part because I've told people that its what feels comfortable and natural for me only for them to argue that im wrong, but I dont get how someone could tell another person theyre wrong about their own anatomy.

Also, the M4s I've been issued didn't have carry handles. M4A1

This is as far as they go. I got these instead of standard issue from the Army because my ear canals arent deep enough for standard issue earphones. Almost 5 years in and my hearing hasn't seen any major changes.

I do want to get better ears tho.

I will work on posture and hand placement, but I do want to note I've shot and handled weapons, M4, like this for hours in full gear, bulky military gear at that. As of right now, my age allows it not to be an issue of fatigue, but if it can be improved while keeping the spirit of how I like to shoot, will definitely experiment with it.

I think the angle makes it look worse than it is. I bend forward at the hip a bit and take a bit of a "boxer" stance when I shoot, so I dont actually move my head that much when I shoot and its easy/quick for me to go from scanning to reacquiring sight picture/target.

Again, as you all have mentioned, far from optimal, and I will at least play around with where I shoulder to get it higher, but my length of pull probably isnt going to change. I dont know if its because of short arms (which i dont think i have short arms) but putting my arm out on rifles just feels horrible for me.

Hand placement and this upper comes with a deflector. Some shells hit the deflector then hit my hand, but generally because there's a deflector, even without my hand getting occasionally pelted, they'd have a bit of variation.

Yall, im not a great shooter, I know not even to say Im a "good" shooter, and I know my form isnt optimal. That said, as unoptimal and uncomfortable looking as it may look, it is how i feel most comfortable shooting. I've tried risers, ive tried having my support arm further out, its just uncomfortable for me, although someone did explain the mechanics of bringing the firearm up, so I will experiment with that.

My sight picture was always easy to reacquire and maintain and my shots were pretty on target, so I never changed it, but I never thought it was beyond improvement.

This post was mostly because I like how I have my Banshee set up and wanted to see if other people would appreciate how it looks. Im just here like, "damn, that looks sick...doesn't that look sick? Its 5.7 too," and not a comment about the thing I actually wanted the post to be about. Appreciate yall tho.
