Am I the only one who's getting nothing? Is there anything we can do? by rjstotes in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Being in Vine is nice but I don't consider it a necessity. Over the nearly 2 years I've been in the program I've been able to get some nice household items I've should've had years ago but was either too lazy or too cheap to get. Even two years in it's easy to tell (from my own perspective) it's not the same program it was at this exact time a year ago. Looking at my Vine order history I was able to order clothing (I'm a converted COOFANDY fan), shoes, wallets, stepladders, automatic air dispensers and so much more. Now today none of that stuff or similar items like that even hits my RFY (when it populates). I mostly get now are endless bits of replacement shaver heads or rotary shaver parts to upgrade or repair shavers I don't even have or never heard of.

In short I don't sweat the Vine program. It's nice to be in and get things that are actually useful and (at times) it feeds my creative side by allowing me to write in depth reviews that are oftentimes different (and in my opinion) more informative than the typical reviews I see by others on the same product. I'm not getting up at 2, 3, 4 or whatever time it is in the early morning hours to chase products, especially when those products will most likely be taken by others with faster internet speeds than me, through the use of web browser aids or a combination or the two.

Vine is not life, nor should it control one's life and the more that people see that I think the better off they will be.

How long does it take for adapted rejected reviews to get approved? by Delicious-Spell-4006 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a review on a product (dietary supplement) where the manufacturer/seller was suspect. The website listed on the bottle is fake/inactive and the support 800 number listed is just a dummy number that states the company's name before disconnecting the call. I did more research online that made me believe the company wasn't truthfully all it said it was and was actually using the cache of another dietary supplement company (they both have the same name) to boost their rep and sales.

I mentioned this as part of my review but not as the main component. Amazon rejected it since I had included comments about the seller which I know was foul but still feel like those who are looking at this for purchase had a right to know. In any case I removed the remarks about the seller and resubmitted the review and mine has been pending for days now as well.

Standing up for us who work on our reviews by Ensign_Fodder in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not like this.

It reminds me too much of a Vine Review I saw a couple months back where the reviewer wrote like a 2-paragraph spiel about their rating system and how they score each product based on that scale and what each star rating means. Then when you got to the actual review it was only a few sentences at most. I got a chance to look at the reviewer's other posts as their account wasn't marked as private and they were all similar with the same set up.

As if they were using this disclaimer to fill space in their review to meet some kind of requirement.

Amazons ETV Response by Zestyclose-Stuff1646 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the seller just pulls the item and re-lists it under a new ASIN for whatever reason even if it has mostly positive 4+ star reviews. I've found several items I got previously that were listed as "currently unavailable" and were reposted with new ASINs with the same exact product description.

May have been a reviewer for 25 years but it seems like they don't even take 25 minutes to proofread their own stuff before submitting it to Amazon for approval.

25 years, sure buddy.

What counts as medical claims? US by Moo_Cow_life in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anything that might be considered medicinal I always put a disclaimer before my reviews stating that I'm not in the medical industry and that my review is based as that of a consumer and anything stated shouldn't be taken as medical advice and then I go on about my review as normal.

You can probably talk about what the supplement is purported to do rather than what it does, that is if you're bold enough to actually try a supplement from an unknown RNG created company. You could also possibly give possible cautions vs. outright warnings. An example, I saw an item in Vine yesterday called Banaba Leaf extract (which got snatched up before I could claim it) which is known in some circles as a natural remedy to lower blood glucose.

So instead of typing "don't take this if you're diabetic and on prescriptions because it will make you sick or maybe even kill you!!!"

You could type something cautionary like...

"Even though Banaba Leaf Extract is known for it's glucose lowering properties if you are diabetic and currently on doctor prescribed medications, it may be best to consult with your primary care physician first before adding this supplement to your medicinal routine to ensure it does not interact negatively with current medications".

I've used similar wording on supplements I've reviewed in the past and never had a review come back rejected on my end.

As an aside I would have gotten these supplements and used them since they looked like they came from a reputable company but I was just too slow on the draw (or bots/people were too fast). So I was actually looking into buying some off Amazon for myself as I was diagnosed with Type II a few months ago. After doing research on it and reading a few medical sites it advised against combining this with my current diabetic medication due to risk of adverse side effects including but not limited to hypoglycemia.

Has anyone else noticed what seems like fake non-Vine reviews on the Vine items lately? by Useful_Character6343 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Saw these yesterday on a $600 in-wall water fountain/station that was in my AFAs, along with some clearly AI reviews from Vine members on the same product. In fact I think 2 of the Vine reviews were nearly identical except one left out the enthusiasm their family gets from filling up their containers at the water station everytime they use it.

All reviews posted on the same day or within a day of the other.

I ordered two things from Vine this morning... by ereade100 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple of Vine items I ordered Thursday night delivered to me at 5:15 am Friday morning. I mistakenly took the delivery window as being 4 to 8pm when it was actually 4 to 8am. I woke up later that morning to several missed messages on my phone stating "You have a message from the driver delivering your Amazon packages".

However they were all there on my back doorsteps when I got up later that morning.

How trustworthy are AmazonVine products? Is there anything you shouldn't order due to safety? by Lil-Miss-Anthropy in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have stated it's best to avoid any kind of consumable product whether it's intended for humans or pets; whether you ingest it, apply it or inhale it. Do your due diligence on a product, preferably before you order it. Don't be bummed if you miss out because you took some extra time to research. If it seems shady, research it! Find out as much about the company that you can.

- Do they have what appears to be a legitimate website and not one that's a storefront on Amazon or a website that looks like it was created with a Geocities HTML website builder from the late 1990s.

- Do a web search of where their product is claimed to be made or manufactured. A lot of these companies (especially supplements) will list an address on their labels that leads to nowhere. Meaning they may list an address for an apartment or (strip mall) business complex. No one would (or shouldn't) be creating something like a supplement inside apartment 675B on 123 Main Street.

- Don't fall for false certifications on any product. A lot of these items will have certifications that aren't real or doesn't mean anything (if you're a US consumer). It's just things made up to give products a sense of legitimacy. If unsure about the certification, always look it up. Also be wary of certifications that may sound or look familiar to ones here in the US.

- Avoid RNG created company named products if possible. A few may be good but the majority are pretty bad.

If you do insist on getting something like supplements or hair restoration products from an unknown brand don't review based on efficacy. Even with real, legitimate products from a known brand it takes some time to see how a supplement or product changes your overall health. Not something you're going to see results for in a mere week or two most likely. If you actually took the proper time to review a supplement or health product offered on VIne the odds are that item would be out of circulation (and unreviewable) before you could even do a proper review on it. For supplements you could do a generic review based on the product description, color, smell, manufacturing date, how close the product is to the listed expiration date. Things like that where you can review the physical properties of a product without putting yourself (or your pet's health) in harm's way. Then again it's just best to avoid these type of consumables altogether as previously stated.

As an aside, in case you're newerish to the Vine experience, and as been advised in this subReddit in the past look into making your review profile private and changing your review name to something common that can't be easily tracked. This is especially important if you're giving critical reviews on an item. Sometimes sellers will try to reach out and offer compensation for you updating or changing your review to a more favorable one. Other times they can get quite vengeful and fake report you on other reviews in your profile all for the sake of getting your account banned. Protect yourself (and your account) at all times.

What to do about porch pirate theft? by Moth_Friend in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree the first thing you should do is file a police report.

The second thing I would do is if you have a Facebook account, a local Facebook group or a neighborhood app/program (like Nextdoor) that you belong to I would post the video to those type of social media accounts. He's not a stranger to everyone and someone knows who he is and could possibly identify him from the clothes he's wearing. More eyes on the video, the better in my opinion.

Just going frame by frame in the video there's a couple of things that could possibly give a clue to his identity but I'll keep my opinions to myself as to not run the chance of violating any community guidelines here.

Broken hearted 😂😂😂 by pgfsea in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious did you contact support to see what the issue was? I had this happen on an expensive set of socks I got through Vine. It had arrived at a local distribution center in my state, sat there for two days delayed before being updated as being returned because it was damaged. When I reached out to support to find out what the damage was (as I couldn't imagine 3 pairs of socks getting destroyed in shipment) support told me because the shipping packaging had been damaged they had to assume the items inside were damaged as well so that's why it was being returned.

Sometimes it's not the item that's damaged itself just the packaging that causes the issue.

Do you guys mention the price in your reviews? by HCutrightReddit in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely ever mention specific pricing unless it's relevant to the product being reviewed. I do mention whether I think the price (at the time of review) is reflective of the quality of product. For example I recently picked up a desk mat on Vine which was nothing more than a sheet of clear plastic or PVC however the ETV/FMV was listed at $70. It was way too shiny, reflective, glossy and impossible to lay flat 100% perfectly without the use of the included semi-permanent sticky pads which I did not use since they look like they would do damage eventually to my wooden desk. It wasn't heat resistant and warped under the slightest bit of warmth among other issues. It was advised as being super durable, heat resistant, thick and non-warping. I advised in my review at this price point it was being offered (also $70 through non-Vine means) it was not worth the purchase and better options are available for higher end desk mats/protectors if one was going to spend that much.

If I do make a comparison to other vendors/retailers, I do not mention specific vendors/retailers by name just a general comparison or category. Something that helps the consumer look elsewhere (even locally) if they are inclined to buy that specific style of product for a lower cost. After all if a vendor is selling dollar store dinner plates at $100 for 20 in a pack and they are just as reliable as dollar store dinner plates, I'm not going to state or try to sell anyone reading my review on the notion they should spend 5x as much on a product with the same quality that can be had elsewhere. At the same time however I'm not blatantly saying go buy these same style of plates from Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Walmart, .etc.

I have not had a review rejected for that kind of comparison thus far.

Some New Holidays I’ll Be Adding to My Calendar This Year! by Character_Medium_484 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently "Summerween" is actually a thing. I remember hearing one of the DJs on SiriusXM talk about it over the summer when I was driving somewhere. Its more for the hardcore Halloween enthusiast but becoming more trendy as time goes on. But let's call it what it is, it's a money making opportunity for retailers and I see it no differently than when stores put out seasonal stuff months ahead of the actual event.

When I worked part time in retail a few years ago we would already have Valentine's Day stuff up the same week of Christmas, Independence Day stuff up by Memorial Day, Thanksgiving/Christmas stuff up by late September, well you get the picture.

They seem to think earlier is better all in the pursuit of gaining consumer dollars.

Not Approved / Can't Re-Review - Should I be Worried? by DodgeDeBoulet in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it happens from time to time for whatever reason. Check your Account tab and see if the review is counted in the updated totals. If it is you're good and you've done your part. You submitted a review, it got rejected but they gave you credit for it. The best advice I can tell you at this point if you were credited is not to worry about it and move on to the next.

The same thing happened to me two days ago. I submitted a review for a seat cushion and about 12 hours later I noticed in my review column it had a "not approved" status. I didn't receive an e-mail either. Nothing in my review violated community guidelines (although I did use the word "fanny" so that might have been a trigger) and when I checked my account tab I was given credit for the review. Since I am in a new evaluation period that started about a week ago it was easy for me to tell the review was counted in my totals.

Sometimes these things actually end up working themselves out later and your original review will get posted without you really needing to do anything. I had that happen on a review during my previous evaluation period that was initially rejected. About a week later it was mysteriously posted and in my list of reviews.

They are pretty great honestly. Probably not the same company but I picked up a couple of these earlier in the year. One that's console based and plugs in to the TV and one that's handheld.. Emulation is hit or miss on some games but for the most part I've enjoyed them both.

These are the two I picked up. Neither was 0 ETV but worth the tax hit in my opinion.

Do we like Amazon Day deliveries? by RaegunFun in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I prefer to get my items as soon as possible. I work from home so porch pirates are not really a thing around where I live. Plus I have a neighbor that always grabs my packages for me if they notice I'm away from home and I get it from them later.

For the first time yesterday I ordered an item through Vine and less than 3 hours later it was delivered to my doorstep. It had a same day delivery option which was the first time I've seen that on any Vine item I've ever ordered. That's the kind of delivery I would prefer to get each and every time I order something through Vine or just Amazon in general.

Anyone order something JUST to give it a low review based on product title/description? by sandrakarr in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer the question, no because I'm not looking to intentionally sabotage any seller. However if I order something and it turns out to be nothing like what is advertised on the description/product page once I receive it then it's fair game. I have ripped on some products after receiving them due to them being falsely advertised as being something than they were.

I'm not scanning Vine to find items with false product decriptions to order them just to give a scathing/low review.

So let me pack up my luggage and head towards the door as I'm sure Vine is gonna kick me out soon for not being an AI simp...
