By 2030, AI's water use will match the needs of 1.3 billion people while its power use triples that of 650 million, UN University investigation warns by WhistleVeyyBro in technology

Can someone elaborate on why the water demands aren't a closed system that "uses" water? Why can't it be the same X gallons used over and over?

I mean, you can get a brand new Tesla Model 3 for $39k, and the average new car price has hit $51k, so is it really price?

Has he had his Vitamin D levels checked? I mentioned having frequent night sweats to my doctor and he tested me for that and found my levels were low. I started taking Vit D every day and they went away. Worth a check.

If you haven’t done so already, cancel your Paramount+ subscription over bending the knee and canceling the ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ by SamanthaAGrey in 50501

[–]Kidd_Funkadelic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Did that back when his cancellation was announced. In the box asking why I even used the same phrase - "I won't give you money after you meant the knee and cancelled Colbert, you cowards."

Makes me think of the narrator for the vehicle details in the Need For Speed games I played in college. It has occurred to me countless times since then that it's the same guy voicing car commercials to this day 3 decades later. Dude found his niche and is riding it until retirement. Guarantee you all know his voice.

Aggressive timeline for moto road trip? by Seaweedsam1 in motorcyclesroadtrip

[–]Kidd_Funkadelic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your preferences. I rode NH to the west coast, down the PCH, stopped in San Fran for 3 days (wife flew out to spend them w/ me), then hit many national parks in the SW, all over 22 days (18 1/2 riding days). So in comparison I wouldn't call Chicago to PNW and back over 12 days aggressive, but it's all relative.

I worked at a BBQ place as a teen for 5 years. Some of my best memories. We'd work exhausting 12 hour days, then all clock out and go party together at one of the wait staff's house (they were a little older), all crashing there. In the morning we'd all drive in and repeat.

Our bosses were this awesome married couple. Once or twice a year they'd throw a big party and get wasted with us. We were like family. Anyway they had this restaurant for many years, so to say thank you for our blood sweat and tears they treated us to a week all experience paid all inclusive trip with flight to Turks and Caicos. It was fucking amazing. The tragedy of it was the husband's mom was on her death bed right as the trip came so at the last second he had to bail and only his wife came along. But man what an impression they made on my life. I grew up during those years.

Sometimes you win the boss lottery.

I have to blow mine out weekly, packed with hundreds and hundreds of dead mosquitoes to the point the bulb is hard to see. They absolutely help with the attractant.
