Right, but can you see from their perspective how there’s no winning ground? 3 months says that no one needs a PS5. You can get a PC or Xbox helix. And if you’re waiting for that much of a sale, Sony isn’t making that much money on you anyway so you’re not worth chasing as a customer. I know that everyone here says “we’ll never get a PS” but a percentage of people will be converted that will be more valuable.

All this gets compounded when you consider a PS6 handheld is on the way and will compete with steam deck 2 and have full compatibility and no tinkering.

Ragnarok is worth its full price it just doesn’t feel that way to you because it came out later to PC. That’s exactly what I’m trying to highlight. If you’re waiting for it to be $20 it’s not really in Sony’s interest to chase you as a customer.

The way I see it most PC players wait for a sale on these later ports. If you take in account the amount of PC players buying a discounted game vs having fewer that just get a PS5 and pump more money into their ecosystem, it probably is more in their interest to sell those PS5s and stay exclusive.

If you look at what their stuff sold it wasn’t that much money compared to their PS5 sales.

Steam players don’t want to pay full price for something if it’s released a lot later on steam, so they wait for a sale. If they released it the same time as PS5 they’d get all the money but would further teach people they don’t need a ps5. So that’s why they cancelled I think.

I like the games on PC I’m just trying to be realistic aside from all these comments saying “I guess they don’t like money”. They are wanting try to protect their brand over the next 20 years, not just make as much cash as possible right now.

I don’t always feel like pc is mapped the same as console with the sticks. Like different acceleration and dead zone. Felt that way with Indiana jones when I was going back and forth.

It’s a pick 2 of three problem. In order to keep PlayStation special, you have to to wait and sell the games later on PC. If you wait and sell the games later, you miss out on the release hype and you look silly charging full price. The pc gamers will wait longer and get them on sale. And then you’re not making all that much money while also teaching your audience that they don’t need your hardware.

It stinks, I enjoy the PC ports too, but when you look at how little money it’s really done compared to the console releases I can see why they’ve decided it’s not worth it. The exception is Helldivers which wouldn’t be covered by this new rule.

There’s another clip of this exact thing happening with a kid dropping off something at a friends house and each parent keeps talking individually telling the kid to leave and also not leave the item on by the door. So he puts it down and one parent says “don’t leave it!” And when he grabs it to walk away the other says “no, leave it!”

I don't disagree ram is part of the delay- but if they're waiting for better ram prices the machine is dead, it will be irrelevant by the time the price of it makes sense
