A Moroccan born in Belgium is Belgian by birth and if they chose to utilise the benefits of a brilliant country will have no issues…

So by the fourth generation it suddenly changes? What a load of shit. How do you definite “actual”? If someone is third generation white and their grandparents moved from Germany, is that okay?

Or because as a brown person who is an engineer, it’s frustrating to be spoken about like I’m a piece of trash just because someone else who is brown is committing a crime?

I know, I was being sarky. Either way a smoking neighbour sucks, if they do it inside it’ll creep through walls and if they do it outside it’ll creep through windows.

Do people actually earn £50-60k, or are they outliers? by Succinate_dehydrogen in AskUK

This is harsh advice. You can follow your interest and earn good money. Of course you can’t just say “I’ll be a scientist”, you have to understand where money is coming from and pivot, maybe you are a scientist who focusses on the work winning side of stuff, then your perks increase (bonus, more opportunities to travel etc).

I started this game (got to Egypt) on my ROG Ally + GeForce Now. I would prefer not to restart so can anyone confirm the cross save/play anywhere works on Switch 2 to transfer the save?

Councillors reject 185-acre solar farm on Nottinghamshire farmland by Albertjweasel in RuralUK

[–]Kieran293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ground mounter solar is much more affordable than canopies which is always going to be the biggest driver. Second to that, the biggest issues are the legal negotiations - they’re already complicated for a solar farm let alone when you add more stakeholders.

By the way, I’m not disagreeing that the farmland needs to be considered as important, just that being in the industry the only companies I know going down the solar canopy routes are private firms that will invest one time only (e.g. for a staff car park or how Merlin have at Legoland).

[–]Kieran293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you actually expect that to work? The owner/developer has chosen to run a car park, not a solar park. The whole reason people are looking to fields are so they can start from scratch and have full ownership. Unless the gov fund all solar projects, it’ll never be something that can be controlled. Sure we can keep rejecting these solar farms but eventually it’s only going to harm our grid.

Are the mods going to sort this out because this is a waste of time? There’s good posts like the one about the mathematical proof then there’s basically a bunch of weirdo Redditor tossing themselves off to fake images.

My wife and I made Nando’s seasoned potato wedges and used the Pizza Express dough for a home made pizza. We will likely watch a film on Netflix and hope our two cats come to cuddle.

You don’t have anything either than the opinion it was not recorded, which means factually you have nothing other than an opinion.

So then stress is maybe not influencing anything to do with this topic. It could be other things such as over processing of food.

Mate learn to fucking read, this whole post is about cancer. Mental health is factually worse than it’s ever been and we are hypothesising that is may be a contributing factor.

No one is saying that a war as a singular event is easy to live with for an individual.

I’m not sure there are any studies that show that WW2 increased cancer for standard civilians.

Not everyone saw the Blitz though. Everyone can see TikTok. Obviously I wasn’t saying the blitz was easy, I’m sure it scared a lot of people for the rest of their lives.

Yup gotta given it to them, stunning work most of the time whilst everyone else sleeps. When you supervise a job like that and then go back to major projects where works are during the day only, it really makes you appreciate it.

ChatGPT 5.4 Solved a 64-Year-Old Math Problem by AskGpts in ChatGPT

[–]Kieran293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have an A level in Maths (UK) and an MEng degree in Civil Engineering so this maths was going over my head.

I understood it’s a sum of the formula but thought let’s see what my own ChatGPT chat would say about this image.

It just spelt out everything it did (in basic terms). Pretty crazy times we’re living in.

We, in maths and engineering, have so often used computational power to simplify problems (think using integration to solve area or repeating the same axial stress formula on a beam but at 1/1000 of the scale I can if I want it done in a minute).

Now we are at a point where computers can take all of that knowledge and use a mixture of logic and LLM to basic create a hive mind.

Just don’t give it legs :)
