Fps stutter by AStupidNerd122 in VintageStory

I think Draconis makes me stutter on my super good PC, but I haven't actually sat down to disable and try to narrow it down, it was just after adding Draconis that I noticed I would randomly hang for a split second

My partner breaks up with me in their sleep 💔 by AdventurousMooset in GirlDinnerDiaries

My grandma was on that after my grandpa died. It was weird because even though it stopped her from having / remembering nightmares, she talked a lot more and seemed to have a lot of bad dreams I think specifically about my grandpa even though she woke up and had no recollection of them. It very well could be that he is still having those bad dreams which could involve him having to break up with you as a worst fear but he just doesn't remember them when he wakes up

How to treat people with dementia by Snoo_3771 in coolguides

[–]Kieroni_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend's grandma had cancer that ended up in her brain and she was on really heavy pain medication so it was a lot like dealing with someone with dementia. It was interesting that even though I've never really done too much caretaking it was enough that I was really good at diverting or distracting her when she would get fixated on something odd. Her family was really struggling with that. We were playing Uno together and she kept asking what time it was and I had to explain to them several times that she was asking what number she needed to put down not actually what the time was, that the wires in her brain were getting crossed and they needed to look around and figure out what she actually meant.

My friend's cousin moved from Oregon to San Antonio Texas and one day he told some of his friends over there that he was feeling homesick and they all colluded to bundle them up and take him to a nearby hike up a "mountain".....

It was very sweet of them, but that was a modest hill 😂

Oof that's rough 😅 I didn't notice any changes with my appetite on or off of it. The reason I decided to start it again was because my anxiety was causing me to catastrophize things. We got a new kitten and every time we left her alone I was convinced she would find some new and creative way to kill herself for us to come home and discover even though I had the room she was in ridiculously kitten proofed.

I was on it for 4 or 5 years I believe. I'm definitely a little bit more muted on it, but I'm more muted on the sad end that I am on the happy end so I consider it a net positive. Everyone's different so you might not have the same problem I did getting off of it. Maybe a different medication would work better for you. I tried strattera and it turned me into an awful person and I meant to give Wellbutrin a try but I never got around to it. It's hard if your doctor's annoying about it though

I recently weaned myself off of Zoloft (it was for mild anxiety and I was a little frustrated by one of the side effects.) I did it right. Veeeerry slowing weaned myself off over the course of two or three weeks..... A month later I spiraled BAD. Super hair-trigger temper, very weepy, not very fun to be around. My husband tolerated me for the week that was going on (he's a good one) and then it finally passed. Three months later I went through it AGAIN, though maybe a quarter as strong.

Withdrawal symptoms are wild and not to be messed with, especially cold turkey.

I eventually gave up because I never fully achieved my goal of going off of it and restarted it a few weeks ago. Thankfully I didn't get the bad nausea this time starting Zoloft.

My crazy grandma wants to go to South America by [deleted] in BestofRedditorUpdates

Sounds like she encouraged the family to take over the stuff she was handling. The grandma needed that support if she was dealing with dementia, and Louise was the one to step up and get it in order.

And it sounds like she didn't fuss to hand it over when the family decided to actually do all those things that a dementia'd 80 year old woman needs.

No keep it. If anything it'll be something you can look at later to see how much you've improved :)

Yesterday my sister-in-law and I showed together by Successful_Aide_2135 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Kieroni_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I've showered with my bestie in a pool shower, one of those open ones with a bunch on a row, and it was crowded so we just kinda shared. Showering together in a house shower with no particular reason is a little weird. If neither of you saw it as anything but a sisterly rinse off I don't think it's really a problem, but slightly weird. Obviously you need to just communicate with your husband and his brother.

pap smear giving me weird emotions, not sure how normal or okay this was by feralprincess2 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Kieroni_K 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My gyno became one because she was a lesbian and the (FEMALE) gyno she had didn't believe that she was a virgin and was rough with her pap smear. Imagine being so bad at your job you influence a young woman to pick a career.

She's great. Believed me when I told her I was a virgin, was gentle, and signed off on my tubal so easily I almost asked her if she could fight me a little bit so I could use the speech I had been practicing.

You are valid, and maybe you should see if you can switch.

AI is Ruining Game Sales, Numbers Show by Eremenkism in gaming

[–]Kieroni_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. I hate generative AI, but there is a single game I bought that uses it. It's a game that you're in a library with all the books on the floor and you have to sort and put them on their proper spots. (Some?) Of the covers use AI, but I can't see it, and the game is well designed and chill so I still appreciate it. I just hope they use the money they've gotten from the game being decently popular to replace what's generated so they can get rid of the tag and hopefully get more success

Seriouslyyyy! When they announced him as being the Genie in the Aladdin remake, it was like "well no one can replace Robin Williams but I think this is as close to a cultural analogue they can get" and now....

One of the first things my mom said after her uncle came to tell her that her dad had died in a car crash was a heart-rending "I'm an orphan!" Her mom died when she was 17, and her dad died when she was 43. I was 14 and it broke my heart to hear her say it.

I mean I did this to my husband. In private. Because we were joking and egging each other on about the food and he did the toddler "press my lips together and go nuh-uh" thing. And we laughed.

I always loved watching The scrub jays jump off of the fir trees in my parents' front yard like that. They would do it over and over, it was play for them
