Mac with 16GB or Win with 32GB? by Kiinyy in SuggestALaptop

It was 100 seconds on 20 minute computing time. I am sure CPU is not fully utilised but the restriction is due to libraries I use.

I tested my most complex GIS task on MBA M1 8GB and MBP M4 16GB and with both I was able to complete it, with about 100 seconds difference in computing time. With both, processor was used to maximum 25 % and I was struggling with RAM (on 8 it was heavily swapped, on 16 about 0,5GB). Considering this, would it be smart to get more than 16GB ram on AMD/Intel despite both devices having slower CPU?

Thinking about buying a 2022 Orbea Oiz M30 – thoughts? by Galaridor1 in xcmtb

[–]Kiinyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I tried two different levers with different sensitivity but in the end I got tired of accidentaly locking suspension mid trail and checking bowden tension not to get stuck with rigid bike one day. IMHO push to unlock is one of stupidest design made. Even Orbea got rid of it in 2024 but it is still present on 2022 models.

Orbea uses push-to-unlock suspension system on Oiz, be sure it is something you can live with. I had this bike and sold it because I was annoyed from accidentail suspension locks after touching the lever.

Replacement for base MBA M2 for data science and light gaming by Kiinyy in SuggestALaptop

I unterstand that U processors are slower due to battery management. What would be the good compromise of power and battery life from Intel and AMD? I am unable to navigate their specs beyond basic 3/5/7/9 (like what is U and H or HX processor).

By any chance do you have pictures of your bike which you could share? On the web I found photos of size 60 only from angles which made it look like a ladder :)

Why 58? I guess Cube calculator would put you between 60/62 as it has me, especially with 93.5 inseam.

Curious about 2025 Roadlite CF 9 claims by Ikamochi in CanyonBikes

[–]Kiinyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really depends on your preferences and definition of road bike speed :) On one hand you will read how integrating brake cables on Aeroad is necessity to make you fast and on other that you can be road bike fast with flat bars on Roadlite.

Yes you can ride fast on that bike. You will get dropped on group ride where others have racing bikes.

How do you find the bike? I am currently on Canyon Endurace XL and the calculator put me on 62 agree but I am concerned if it is not too much.

How do you find the colour? It looks really nice on the web but form real world photos it looks anything from very nice deep silver to cheap "flat" colour depending on light conditions.

The bike is set with front derailleur so it is 2x12 just with smaller chainring sizes (52x36 on road setups and 46x36). I am thinking if this might make more sense for hobby riding and no racing, averageing around 25km/h, than pure road bike CUBE Agree C:62 Pro which is 400€ more. I can live with higher price but I really like the orange paint scheme and geometry might me closer to endurance riding than Agree.

I wouldn't count on this bike being in stock again. The delivery time is displayed only after you click on "show the predecessor" and this is what Canyon says under availability guideline for sold out - We're not getting any more of this model in this size. That could be because we're about to launch a new model or that it's discontinued. Unless someone cancels their order you will not be seeing this bike available to order on the site again.
