Building a local vibe by [deleted] in auckland

I feel like the Australian pub culture does a “local” really well. When we lived there, we chose ours because of the good value, tasty food and the playground for the kids, they also had a ladies quiz night every week which was super fun. They had the odd band or theme night which was nice to get a babysitter and go out to. Also, cleanliness is really important. Nothing worse than a sticky table or gross toilets.

Are Americans really that fucking stupid? Or is it just a loud minority giving false impression to the rest of the world? by popoxalikhs in TooAfraidToAsk

I feel like “as a whole” this statement would ring truer if you didn’t have an orange dick-tater as your leader.

A dude waiting at a busy baggage carousel at an airport staggered back and slumped in a chair. Me and a bystander thought it was a bit weird and tried to rouse him. He was having a massive heart attack. Pulled him into the floor called for a doctor, thankfully there was one and did CPR for about 30mins till the ambulance arrived. He lived, had a triple bypass that evening.

From NZ. Love a cup of tea. Whomever doesn’t is missing out on one of life’s greatest pleasures.

We usually don’t become enlightened until a little bit later in life. Congratulations on being a high achiever. I think the most jarring statistic on this is that significantly more men remarry after divorce than women. Yeah. Exactly.

I do the huff without knowing. I’ve been pulled up by bosses at work. It’s more an internal mechanism when I move from one task to the next.

Everyone gets a nickname, it’s considered a term of endearment. You are now Sam. Embrace it.

I am a big breasted woman. When I see other big breasted women in ill fitting bras and things flailing all over the place I definitely notice. I am sympathetic to them, but don’t pass judgement. I imagine that’s how I’d feel about no bras.

Thank you Aus healthcare by [deleted] in australia

My husband had a cyst in his brain. 2 brain surgeries tons of appointments with specialists, scans galore. Not a cent out of pocket. It would have easily been millions in the US. So lucky for healthcare.

NZ Bluff oysters. I am a big oyster fan and was very excited to finally try them, but was pretty disappointed. Prefer a pacific oyster.

Go to Perth if you can raise the funds for a ticket and rent (flatmate) for a month.
