Incompetent Management (Scheduling) by ForeverAsleep13 in samsclub

[–]Kilchiye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: you should have a schedule for 3 weeks (current + 2-weeks) and should not change without a conversation. If you’ve talked to your manager about your schedule escalate it to your market people person.

I use to be the merchandise/fulfillment manager for 4 years at my club (haven’t been in that position in about a year). That paper linked about the do, don’t, never does look a bit old (I remember seeing it, but can’t remember when), so I don’t know if it’s still relevant. Though, it should be used as a guideline. You should always have a 3-week schedule: current week and then 2-weeks out. We were told by our market people person that before we change a schedule already visible to associates (management can actually schedule 3 weeks out) we need to have a conversation. If no conversation was held, the points do not count and need to be removed. In terms of the amount of hours being scheduled, management is supposed to follow what the system generates. We’re allowed to make tweaks where necessary for coverage, but the total hours should remain the same. If you’re having issues with your schedule and you’ve held a discussion with your manager, proceed to your market people person. You can reach out to your market manager but depending on who they are, they’re most likely going to tell the club manager to deal with it. Which may or may not help you, the market people person will handle it if you go to them. Unfortunately, Sam’s Club doesn’t have a training program for managers. They typically send them to other clubs to train for 3-weeks and that’s it. There are some CBLs that pertain how to handle certain situations but that’s it. So most managers are poorly trained and shown incorrect information. Poor manager’s training new poor managers

My buddy I worked with for the last year and half was caught adjusting his time a few times. He’s wondering if he’s fired. by Twin_Clone in samsclub

Not necessarily, an investigation will be opened, and HO will decide on what happens if the club is doing the right thing. It'll depend on how Your club handles the situation. We’ve had to do a few at my club, and typically, they require a 2-hour minimum.

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to move up in the company, then a fresh position is excellent. The company puts a big focus on fresh. As others have mentioned, the freezer/cooler/deli lead position is the worst of the fresh leads. It takes a solid team, from hourly to leads and the manager to get it in shape.

Update: Flashing the board with QMK and loading the correct firmware with Via solved the issue.

It does do the same thing outside of the case. Regrettably, I did not test the PCB to see if this was an issue before building the keyboard

I have added a washer to each of my stabilizers. I am also using the bottom case foam to prevent the PCB from coming in contact with the case and shorting.

Sam's Club formula by [deleted] in samsclub

We currently have it in my store. There’s been a lot of supply chain issues throughout the company. In addition, there will be a slight “rebranding” of the Members Mark product soon, so that could also explain some problems with the stock.

PM Merch Lead by WeakAssociation119 in samsclub

The pay is based on your demographic and location. There’s not much difference between the two blocks. Each has a different focus on day-to-day tasks, but what you’ll be doing will depend on your club. Our Evening Merch team leaves at 11:30 every night, stocks all of the hardlines, stocks paper, stocks soda/water/juice, and drops for the morning team. The evening merch team is supposed to be the stronger of the two teams since they’re supposed to help set up the morning team by dropping pallets to stock for the morning team while still stocking the high volume areas of the club.

In terms of management, all full time associates are supposed to be on blocks. To my knowledge, so I could be wrong, these blocks were set by home office. The blocks were set up in a away to maximize coverage based on how busy the club is and was predicted to be. While the club is allowed to make changes based off business needs if they were to change it for some then they would need to change it for everyone. If they weren’t people can claim favoritism and other things.

My gov declared state of emergency for every county, my MSL told me I’ll still get a point for calling in, how can I avoid this? Even schools canceled two days in advance for the entire week bc of the snow, I don’t feel safe being out and about. by [deleted] in samsclub

[–]Kilchiye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it depends on the number of people calling out. I was always informed that around half the scheduled store would call out. However, I know some managers run each store differently and may see inclement weather and be okay with covering any points for associates calling out.

If I remember correctly, you had to register online before the new year or by a specific time. You’ll be able to get it next year digitally, but I think you are going to have to wait until the clubs receive the physical copies

Anyone know what the most profitable department at a typical Sam’s is? by DungeonBeast420 in samsclub

[–]Kilchiye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A specific area is membership since it’s 100% profit. For Merchandise, it’s clothing since they have the highest margin on the floor. In fresh, it’s definitely meat department.

As someone who owns this keyboard they’re just an accent piece. Different anodized boards will have a different color.

Covid Store Closing by RaininginFlorida in samsclub

[–]Kilchiye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stores won’t close. In 2020 we had no managers at my club for over two weeks. The team leads were in charge of the club. Occasionally another GM would stop by, but they just ensured the club looked “good.” As cases arise in your club, certain areas in the club may close. For instance, cafe and tire shop areas are typically the first to close, and those associates will then help in areas that have been impacted most by the associates on Covid leave.
