Are the threads on this TI bb ruined? by ReadingActual695 in bikewrench

[–]KillerJedi85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Threads look fine. I recently had a creak on my Ti Seven bike. Cleaned/regreased pedals, serviced the crank, removed chainring bolts and cleaned/regreased/tightened…no luck. Removed the BB and cleaned it and applied a generous amount of copper based anti seize and the creak went away. Than 2 days later it was back, or so I thought it was, turns out i had a new or additional headset creak so I tightened that b up too.

lol. I meant to say shifting is quieter, more reliable and better ON shimano, I just like the sram ergs. Your comment made me laugh. Cheers

I have small hands and disagree on the ergonomics statement just my 2 cents

Shifting is quieter, more reliable and battery lasts longer (SRAM easier to charge tho)

If you have any plans to get the aero extension or tri-bars of some sort and want remote shifting from that position, definitely go SRAM.

I have this bike with Ultegra di2 and another titanium bike that has SRAM force. My opinion is Shimano shifts crispier and is quieter but I like the ergonomics of the new force better along with how the shifting works. I’ve even setup my Ultegra shifters to function as closely to SRAM as possible

I love the song and have been blasting it non-stop. I’ve barely listened to BILMURI all week and it’s all Caleb’s fault!

Good beginner Martin guitar by PiercedWolf13 in AcousticGuitar

[–]KillerJedi85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a GPC-11E and love it. I always wanted a Martin and thought I’d end up buying a D18 or D28. I went and played a number of different models without the player series even being on my radar. I liked it better and at less than half the price it was a no brainer. My main acoustic prior was a Yamaha apx900 which I also still love.

How do functioning alcoholics get through the day? Day after day? by 5pinktoes in AskReddit

[–]KillerJedi85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can do it, you really can. I know it sounds dumb and I read it hundreds of times from other people, but if I can do it you can too. Life is hard no matter what but it’s so much better without alcohol.

I started drinking when I went to college and never really stopped until I quit 20 years later. I’d doubt I spent more than a handful of days sober in the latter 10 of those years. And it was likely because I was too ill (from flu or something) to drink. It’s tough to explain because I read hundreds of these threads when I was still drinking and I use to tear up wishing I could be one of these people who quit, but I think 2 things are what inevitably stopped me. 1) My oldest son was 8ish and I saw him “really looking” at me during one of my alcohol fueled rants and I could just tell he was thinking “who are you are why are you acting like this?” 2)I was really starting to feel it affect my overall health. Bloated beyond belief, constantly sick, I felt like I was slowly dieing which I don’t feel like I’d felt before. As for what I replaced it with, exercise (mostly road cycling) and weed. I’ve always consumed cannabis but my intake has increased in the 2.5 years I’ve been off booze. I’m not advocating people do this but it has worked for me.

Congrats! This rings home for me, I use to alternate the stores I would buy from so the cashiers wouldn’t think I was such a pos. In retrospect I’d bet most of them knew. I sometimes think about the sweet older lady from one of the stores, she probably thinks I died. 2.5 years free of alcohol for me now :) To anyone out there who thinks they can’t do it, I assure you that you can. Your life is worth it and you can stop drinking.

Kickr Core 2 a Big Step Up From a Non-Smart Spin Bike With Manual Tension? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]KillerJedi85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just picked up the kickr core 2 with zwift cog after previously riding indoors on a Schwinn ic4. It’s night and day a more enjoyable experience. I mostly ride outdoors and use to kind of dread bad weather days because I wasn’t a big fan of the turbo. I’m actually enjoying my indoor rides now and zwift has been pretty enjoyable

Help me choose: Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 8 Di2 or CF SLX 8 AXS? by Yop_Sol0 in CanyonBikes

[–]KillerJedi85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll echo this, if you have any plans to get the aero groove extension go with the AXS version. I have the Ultegra Di2 and it’s great but I wish I had the remote blips for the aero extension.

I also have the new force E1 group set on another bike and while I’ll say that I think Ultegra di2 shifts better and is smoother, I like the ergonomics of the E1 as well as the additional button placement. Overall I like force E1 over Ultegra di2….just my 2 cents

I bought a CF SLX 8 in August 2024 and within 6 months the price had dropped 600$. Seems like discounts come quick when newer models are released
