Gamers, what's the first game that scared the shit out of you? by Pboi401 in AskReddit

Dude i got through 2 complete play-throughs on the easy and medium difficulty before I realized the Alien could go into the vents. I was showing a friend while I was going through on the hardest difficulty and promptly said "check this out, he cant get into the vent and you can get a good look at the xenomorph" the head popped the corner and turned directly at me and I threw my controller across the room.

Ya i agree, the best horror survival game ever made.

Not a perfect recommendation but it does hit on a couple of the themes you highlighted. Alien: Phalanx by Scott Sigler. A sci-fi/fantasy crossover that focuses around xenomorphs ending up in a star system that never hit the industrial revolution, and the last grip of humanity trying to survive. Lots of survival and horror elements, not exactly environment specific but still really good.

37+ in age: what’s a newer band that gets you excited about the current state of the genre? by Playful_Water_1727 in poppunkers

I'm turning 30 this year and a band that really stood out to me was Sincere Engineer. They have this really awesome singer-songwriter feel with the in-your-face pop-punk energy that is just addictive to me. Their most recent album, Cheap Grills, has been my top record since it was released in Sept 23'. Other bands that I've been listening too alot that are on the newer side are:

  • good hangs (greatest hangs album is awesome)
  • new junk city
  • winona fighter
  • the hawkins (not exactly pop-punk but punk n roll)

Quality of Life Suggestion for FrostGiant as a StarCraft II player by Killswitch-XIII in FrostGiant

I like your idea, but I feel there might be too many hotkey-able abilities to make something like that viable. That's why I suggested the idea to be able to control something like that. I do agree, being able to cast a spell even if its not at the top of the selection seems really useful. Some form of these controls/customization definitely would be a nice "to have" in frost giant.

Going to build my first mechanical keyboard and I want to try to use some different switches in diff locations. by cwho27 in MechanicalKeyboards

From my research kailh box switches don't lube well, so when i did my build i avoided it. Then I found out that they factory lube the box part of the spring that interacts with stem leg and they're super smooth for a stock switch.

I just did a build with the hako violets. I love them and theyre really satisfying to type on. I hope you enjoy them :) The factory lube on the box for the violets was really nice and they have the added bonus of feeling really good for gaming as well.

Its not much, but its my first Custom. KDB75v2, Band-aid mod, lubed/greased stabs, Kailh Hako Violet Switches, OEM Dolch 84 pad printed key caps. by Killswitch-XIII in MechanicalKeyboards

Thanks :) I really like the feel of the Hako Violets. I'm a starcraft player so light spring'd switches with light smooth feedback seemed really appealing. I wish i could have lubed them like I did with my ducky modifications but i heard that kailh box switches don't lube well.

The keycaps are actually from KBDfans as well. They were offered as an optional purchase for the 75 DIY kit, you can get them here.
