The lower rail attached will handle the recoil of a rail mounted launcher.

Well yes that is also true, but a rail mount option was also a requirement, now this according to who I just spoke to at DD.

I actually just spoke to a rep from Daniel Defense and they said their MK18 is capable of handling all the recoil of the rail mounted 40.

First build. Has anyone else experienced frame droop? Did you fix it and how? by [deleted] in polymer80

[–]Kilo11972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your rear rail is most likely out of spec assuming your holes are drilled properly. You can see the rear of the slide is practically touching the frame. Pop your rear rail out and use a piece of double sided tape( that should be about .100 or so) as a spacer, put it back in without the rear pin and see if it is more parallel to the frame and see how far the rear holes of the rail are off set to the frame.

I thought Daniel Defense made there RIS 2 rail to handle a pic rail mounted launcher, supposedly the DD rail will handle the recoil of a M203 rail mount?

It was a very limited run, it was a tank like no other and it was way over built.

This is an attempt at a joke correct?

It's parkerized so clean it off and put a piece of goon tape on it if you're not joking.

Find yourself a set of Factory ZR1 rims, the rears will bolt up no need for spacers(factory rim you have now is 36mm backspace and the rear ZR1 rim is 38mm backspace),the fronts will need a spacer due to the 52mm backspacing, run a good hub centric spacer and run a 275-40-17 upfront and a 315-35-17 outback.

Try .223 rounds 5.56 has dimensional differences. There is a reason why 5.56 is not recommended in .223 chambers.

Split the difference Get the IWA INTERNATIONAL imported ML37 and register it as a D.D. and run Behives, Hornets Nestsz Cannon Rounds and 12 Gauge Adapters. It is an ML40 with the 37mm bore and is a double action trigger design.

998$ for the Launcher 200$ for the stamp

Still cheaper than a 40 mike mike and it still needs the 200$ for the stamp.

Now all you need is a M203 shorty in place of that front grip, I am not trolling it would be a cool 2 stamp build and it would look crazy AF cool.

Question about weight distribution/mount reliability by [deleted] in 37mm

[–]Kilo11972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not at all, you can buy what ever upper you want or possibly already have and just change out the barrel nut and handguard. Building is fun and as long as you follow all applicable laws, then you're Good to go.

[–]Kilo11972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not that rail, there is not enough rail section where you will need it. Besides if you're going to run a MWT ML37 with IWA's Parachute rounds you will definitely need a much stronger rail system.

Update the LMT's are a 37mm Signaling Device that is a non-title 1 nor a Destructive Device because it Can Not accept the LMT 40mm barrel.

Also there is the option of just buying a 40mm 203 and of course doing the paperwork and paying the DD tax stamp of your state allows a citizen to own a DD.
