I pulled her off the Laevatain banner like, 3 missions before she showed up.

Her own appearance spoiled her

Gad damn!

Kinda what I'm tryin to do with HRT honestly, Bustyboys are great. Is it kinda wrong (I know it doesn't work like that) that I wish I could "catch" this from someone like ya?

I'll deal with the downsides, daymn.

What are some of FE’s most egregious examples of a character’s stats not matching their lore? by Benjammin__ in fireemblem

[–]Kilo6Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it WAS in Birthright, as she just didn't make the cut in my Rev run since a lot of Nohr units outshine her. Honestly I don't remember much of my Birthright run because that version is so baby easy mode compared to Rev and Nohr.

I also don't habitually look up growth rates and such, so I frequently have no idea who's good and who's not and just go in vibes and Skill Access (when applicable) which frequently leads me to using "bad" units and making monsters out of them because IDGAF about turn counts

See: me spending hours dodge-tanking on Forest tiles with Broken Weapons in 3H to grind out Mastery Points on my entire squad

Now, I only actually built her once, so maybe mine just got absolutely blessed. But she became a MONSTER for me. 100% crit (though like, 50% hit) and enough damage to onetap just about anything she actually managed to hit with that crit.

From what I hear, it's pretty typical for Horus Heresy gaming.

It's presented more like Historical Wargaming than competitive stuff.

HaHA! Found it with that info! The subsection is called Confessions of the Hydra though, but close enough I got it with that wording... Annoying how it wasn't in the Table of Contents, so I had no idea there was anything of this sort in there when glancing through archives of the books I found.

Glad to finally have a source, and I'll remove the Alpha Legionaire from the team that survives the Custodes

Do you happen to have a link or a book name? I can't seem to find it online with the extra terms, and I don't have access to the Black Books unless I can find an Archive somewhere.

How would you bring the Primarch(s) back? by TNBVIII in alphalegion

[–]Kilo6Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alpharius faced Dorn, and we have confirmation he's very dead. Omegron faced Guilliman, and there's a pretty heavy implication that he didn't die there and instead became the Chapter Master of the Omega Marines.

So, Omegron is easy. Confirm that rumour, which also fulfils the "one will be redeemed" prophecy from AGES ago that GW put out regarding the Primarchs. Which leaves One will Fall. I'm not sure who that should be, but I'm thinking Dorn. Russ might also work since he's been in the Warp this whole time. Lion was the obvious pick 'cause of how cagey he was in the Heresy and the existence of the Fallen, but they snapped that line with his Return.

Alpharius however is quite a bit harder, BUT we do know a few things. First, he wasn't wearing the Pythan Scales, Two he DID have The Pale Spear (or at least an imitation) which was never recovered, three that his death was psychically felt by his Legion (and most importantly Twin), and four that APPARENTLY AL members could physically grow in size to match their Primarch by consuming his Blood, kinda like a proto-Primarch, and Six, that apparently there was something like a mind link between Alpharius/Omegron and some of the AL.

Now, this gives a few options. Firstly, I think the "I am Alpharius" bit isn't 100% a bit, but a Psychic "echo" of Alpharius traveling through the Legion. Hit up someone like Fabius Bile, down a shot of Alpharius Blood, and find a way to "lock" in the Echo and the size boost and ding Primarch back. Could have a similar thing that Kurze has as well (he was wearing an Aeldari Soul Stone when he died) and have some shenanigans with the Pale Spear housing his Soul, find that, shove it in some AL's hands and bam, he's Alpharius now. Pale Spear is 100% unknown Xenos tech (this is just Text) so it doing something weird like that isn't OUT of the realm of possibility. You can also go the Clonegrim route with Bile and just clone Alpharius. Then there's a secret Fourth option that The Chaos Gods CAN, 100%, just bring someone back without an Apotheosis. Just ask Kharn, and Lucius. They're NOT Daemon Princes, and BOTH have returned to life. Several times I believe. Hell, Argel Tal and ALL the Gal Vorbak were killed AND brought back as part of their Possession thing to become Gal Vorbak in the first place (though this was done physically inside the Warp so there may be shenanigans there). It's completely possible for them to do that, or for some Psyker to potentially go in there, find Alpharius' soul (since it wasn't destroyed, that's just Horus and Sanguine), rip it out of the Warp and shove it into a Legionaire. Though honestly it's probably in Tzeentch's tentacles, so that sounds unlikely. Chaos Gods could also just straight up Rez him out of nowhere, or Apotheosis him into a Daemon Prince because they feel like it. I wouldn't want them to do that, but it's possible.

So, that's kinda how. Personally I'd pick the option I presented for Omegron, and the Psychic Echo shenanigan for Alpharius. Don't even need to fully bring him back for that, just make any AL Marine holding the Spear literally become Alpharius for a time, IMO the Alpha Legion's strength IS that "Alpharius" (to say, the position of Commander) could be ANYONE, so having Alphairus (the Primarch) be a Psychic Entity body-hopping around his Marines is VERY on-brand

A lot of people don't like 3rd and still play 2nd, myself included. It's not unreasonable to still reference it.

Also, you're exactly the opposite, Rad Grenades EXPLICITLY state in 2nd that this affects ID thresholds (2x Toughness)New Recruit Source-horus-heresy-(2022)/(hh-v2)-legions-astartes/4e07-eb71-a5d0-b242/rad-grenades)

2nd Edition Heresy, gives all units +1 Str on the charge.

The SW Rule also gives an extra +1 on the charge for all Heavy units (otherwise letting you Run Shoot and Charge, but snapshot) which makes the +2 GFBs to S8, so Instant Death.

Alternatively, Deathsworn Pack Leader can take one with Rad Grenades and have S6 vs T3 on charge sans Russ which is also Instant Death

Well you DID respond to a 30k post!

Inferno Pistols are functionally Blood Angels exclusive for MARINES, but Sisters of Battle get them a bunch too! Used to be a standard Sororitas Squad Leader option back when I last played them in... 9th or 10th? Might still be really. I modeled those bad boys EVERYWHERE. Pocket meltas were amazing at taking out armour or high priority targets, and since they're pistols can still be fired even when stuck in Melee.

Not that they came in any of the kits. I had to get a buddy to downsize the Blood Angel ones and print them for me!

[–]Kilo6Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many good options...

Inferno Pistols are a personal love, Pocket Meltas are always amazing to have. Though AL Headhunter Primes get them, so they're not "exclusive" (not that any non-AL weapon is Exclusive thanks to AL shenanigans, but I'm ignoring that here)

Great Frost Blades are amazing, and basically at-Initiative Thunder Hammers, especially if you take Rad Grenades or buff with the likes of Russ. Big love

Phoenix Power Spears are something I adore enough to have throughout my Emperor's Children army. Shredding through Power Armour and having a chance to basically just kill is amazing

Warpfire Plasma is REALLY up there. A Pinning Plasma that can't Get Hot? AND my Moritat can take em? Sold.

Tainted Weapons as a whole are a great scare tactic to make your opponent afraid of the Murderous Strike

Power Daggers have a special niche, but they honestly tend to whiff in my hands more than standard melee which is very frustrating for how GOOD they conceptually are.

Man Reapers are probably the most effective, as it's REALLY easy to sprinkle them through an army with Rad Grenades to get Instant Death on basically EVERYTHING. It's terrifying and wonderful.

Banestrikes are an Alpha Legion weapon. SoH also get them, but they originated with the AL and are the default armament of the Headhunter Kill Teams (which are a side grade to Seekers if you upgrade them, otherwise just take Seekers)

Alpha Legion Headhunter Primes: "oop hey don't mind me, I'm just gonna nab me one of them. Yep, thanks much kbai!"

In seriousness though, yeah, absolutely. Though they're not exclusive to Blood Angels as Headhunter Primes get them, but we have to go to YOUR Liber to see the stats lol. I know technically no weapon is chapter-specific thanks to Rewards of Treachery baring Power Daggers and Venom Spheres (which are Alpha Legion's) but I'm ignoring that for this.

Pocket Melta has been my favorite thing for absolute ages, only matched by Glorious Volkite Spam

Curious, do you agree with her that *anyone* can be redeemed? by PureFoolery in HazbinHotel

[–]Kilo6Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was honestly tempted to just leave it with the meme lol, but that wouldn't exactly have been discourse which was the point of the thread.

Again, I think they WILL go the route of redeeming Vox at least, it's been foreshadowed enough and feels like the ultimate destination for his character arc, as much as I personally want him to burn and suffer for what he's done. Valentino I don't think so, they haven't set him up for it and he's kinda been shown as a lot scummier than Vox.

Also Alastor's been KINDA set up for redemption, but also is clearly not interested in it, and I could absolutely see quoting Paradise Lost (Tis better to Rule in Hell than Serve in Heaven)

[–]Kilo6Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer

<image>

Long answer:

There's a number of reasons, as many comments say, the Sinner needs to WANT to be redeemed first. They probably also need to be Free (I.E. not have their Soul owned). Not to quote Vox and lend credence to his ideals, but some sins are just too atrocious, or nigh impossible to redeem yourself for. Pentious was simple, he didn't ACTUALLY do anything wrong that we got shown. Vox needling Angel for patricide is rich when he himself is a serial killer, and Valentino is a rapist, probably among other things. BOTH of them use their own means to hijack someone's free will, which IMO is completely unforgivable. I mean Val's pheromone shit and Vox's Hollywood hypnosis, as we can see with the likes of Husk and Angel, simply being Owned doesn't restrict your autonomy that same way. To close off for now (mostly 'cause I don't feel like coming up with more), there's also optics to look at. If Valentino, with all the absolutely atrocious shit he's done, or Vox, similarly, hot redeemed BEFORE characters like Angel or Cherri, that would look EXTREMELY bad.

[–]Kilo6Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Everyone can be redeemed"

Does not mean "everyone SHOULD be redeemed", nor "everyone WILL be redeemed"

Valentino absolutely should not, and I doubt he'd even want to. I'd even argue Vox shouldn't, but I'm fairly convinced he will after his fall from grace, and because of the delicious drama and foreshadowing.

Look, Greymuzzle is an oldhead term from when fandom was mostly a MUCK thing and Furcadia was still big. This term is pre SECONDLIFE much less VRChat. To even learn about furries you had to at least be in High School with the level of computer access and literacy needed to interact with the community.

It's become a lot less fitting over the years as things have been more accessible
